Mathilda Fishing is a family run business that has been serving happy customers for 50 years. Your skipper Mamode Chowtee has spent most of his life on the water, learning the tricks of the trade from his father. Now he invites you to join him for deep sea and big game fishing off the coast of Grand-Baie, Mauritius. Come aboard and see for yourself why anglers flock to these waters for the ultimate fishing experience!
Step aboard a 35’ Junenville offshore sport fishing boat, built in 1990 and powered by twin 225 HP Perkins Sabre engines. This vessel comes equipped with everything you need, including outriggers, a fighting chair, and a wireless trolling motor. On board you will find quality gear by Penn and Shimano, including both manual and electric reels.
Your skipper Mamode is ready to help you get the most out of these waters, whether you come aboard for a full day of fishing or just a few hours. You can join him for big game fishing to target trophies like Sailfish, Marlin, Mahi Mahi, and Yellowfin Tuna just 12 nautical miles from shore. Or you can come aboard for a specialized jigging trip to target many of the same species.
Mamode also runs deep sea fishing trips, which give you a chance to reel in some of the most delicious species in the sea. These charters include bottom fishing for Red Snapper, Rockfish, and a variety of local specimens. Mamode will help you try your hand at the traditional method of handline fishing, or you can stick to conventional rods and reels if you prefer.
Mathilda Fishing provides a license and all the gear you need. Children age 10 and older are welcome aboard for deep sea fishing, but big game fishing is recommended for adults only. You are welcome to keep as many bottom fish as you would like. You may request to take home a big game trophy, as well.
Come aboard today and try your luck at fishing in Mauritius!
