Peake Tide Fishing Co - Cape Craft
Peake Tide Fishing Co. offers fishing trips around the waters of Chesapeake Bay. Here, you can indulge in a variety of fishing activities, whether it’s trying out light tackle fly fishing around the bay waters or scouting grass flats during the summer.
You will be fishing with a local captain who has extensive knowledge of techniques and hot spots. Captain Josh has been fishing around various waterways across the States, perfecting his fishing skills. Josh likes accommodating anglers of all levels of expertise.
You will be fishing from a 18’ Cape Craft flats and bay boat. The vessel is powered by a 70 HP Yamaha engine. She can take you to the fishing grounds fast, and can help you reach the shallows with little effort. The boat is quiet and is fitted with Lowrance sonar and GPS, as well as a Minn Kota trolling motor that lets navigate around the shallow waters without scaring off the fish. Once you get to the really shallow waters, Captain Josh will use a push pole to get you around the fisheries and within a casting distance of the target. You will mostly be engaging in light tackle jigging, spinning, and fly fishing.
In spring time you can go around the James River and fish for Shad, while during summer you can explore the Mobjack Bay or the Great Wicomico River for some nice bottom fish. Your trip around the flats can be truly lucrative or not so much, depending on how the fish move on a particular day. But, that still won’t mean you can’t try and practice the art of fishing. Quite the opposite — if you want a fun day to relax, you will definitely find that here.
When packing for the trip, you will need to put on comfortable clothes and non-marking shoes. Make sure to bring food, snacks, and drinks, as well as a cap, sunglasses, sunblock, and, of course, a camera to make some nice photos. The captain will supply the fishing gear. If you have a bigger party, just scroll down and click on captain’s name to check out his center console.
