Snapper (Red)
Trip Summary
Trip Summary
Over the past 7 years red snapper has been closed to harvest due to federal regulations. We've been allowed about 20 days total over these 7 years, with zero days over the last 2 years. The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council, which is the governing body assigned by NOAA to oversee the South Atlantic Ocean fishery, recently voted to approve a red snapper season for 2017. NOAA has yet to vote to approve or deny the 2017 season, so we sit and wait for their decision. I actually anticipate a season this year, but don't have any exact dates yet. Once the dates are set, I will update. I have attached some recent pics of fish we have released for future harvest! Once they open the season, open spots will go fast! We will be doing three 4hr trips per day!
