FAD1 - Freedive Fiji Charters

Pacific Harbour, Central Divis…
Pacific Harbour, Fiji

The winners of the Fiji International Gamefishing Tournament, Freedive Fiji Charters invite you to come deep sea fishing in the prolific Fiji waters, and experience what some visiting anglers are calling some of the most fertile fishing grounds this side of the Pacific. FAD1, the team’s vessel, is 30 feet long, powered by twin Yamaha 150HP engines, with enough room on board to accommodate groups of up to 6 anglers per trip. The boat is equipped with a range of electronics and navigational tools, including GPS, radio and fish finder, and features a toilet on board.

The FAD1’s crew specializes in fishing on light and medium tackle between 8kg and 24kg (17lbs to 53lbs), as they believe this kind of fishing equipment will give anglers the best chance of catching large pelagics, while not sacrificing the sportfishing aspect of the experience. This is one of the most popular fishing techniques utilized out of the Pacific Harbor, and so far seems to works very well with large schools of Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish and other pelagics congregating around the various seamounts and oceanic structures.

Deep canyons and trenches, lying between the islands of Kadavu and Viti Levu, are also home to prolific Blue Marlin fishing grounds, due to a large population of bait fish inhabiting the area. For those anglers really interested in getting their arms stretched, dropping jigs or casting poppers for the likes of Dogtooth Tuna and large GTs is often described as an unforgettable experience in its own right.

All the necessary fishing gear and equipment for the group will be provided by the FAD1 team, complete with both live as well as artificial bait. Snacks, refreshments, pastries and full lunch are all included in the base price of the trip, including the fishing licenses for all occupants of the boat.

We had a great time out fishing. It went well from being picked up at the wharf, taken fishing, catching fish, eating sashimi and then being dropped back to the wharf to continue our cruise. The whole experience was awesome and was run extremely well many thanks Paul from Adelaide South Australia.
