Big Fish Charters invites you on a fishing trip around Biloxi’s inshore waters. You will find solid action here throughout the year, and no matter how skilled you are, Capt. Dustin and Capt. Leo will help make your day enjoyable.

Capt. Dustin comes from a family of fishermen. He grew up fishing with his dad, Capt. Jay of Silver Dollar Charters, and has worked as a deckhand from an early age. Captain Dustin knows these waterways quite well and if someone can help you make the most out of your day on the water, it’s him. He’s specialized in inshore light tackle trips and will put you on some tasty tablefare.

You will be fishing from a 24’ Hydrasports center console. She is an open boat made for some serious inshore fishing action and will give you flexibility to try out different techniques and access a variety of fishing spots. The boat is powered by a 220 HP Yamaha engine, and features GPS, a fishfinder, a VHF radio, as well as the safety gear.

Onboard, you will find a selection of Penn and Shimano gear, an ice box, and live bait well. The captain mostly fishes with cut bait, but can also fish for live bait once you head out.

You will be fishing for a range of inshore species, including Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, Tripletail, Cobia, Black Drum, Jacks, and more. You will go fishing around backwaters, barrier islands, and inshore hot spots. The focus is on light tackle fishing, but Capt. Dustin and Capt. Leo can also accommodate other fishing techniques.

Kids are welcome to join the chase. The captains will provide the gear, but you should bring food and drinks of choice. The fishing license is included. You should pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, soft white soled shoes, and a camera. You will also want to bring along a container to take your fish home. Book your spot and go get a tasty meal and give your friends a trip to remember!

At the age of 12, Captain Jay Trochesset worked with his father on the charter boat Gay Jay, deckhanding during the summers of high school and college. He purchased his first boat, the Silver Dollar, in 1974, and thus his career as a licensed charter boat captain began. As the business grew, Jay and his father J.P. spent the better part of three years designing and building the Silver Dollar I, a 50' fiberglass sports fisherman. In 1997, Jay christened his third boat the Silver Dollar II. He now operates the Silver Dollar III, a custom built 52' Catamaran purchased in 2009. Jay won People's Choice Award for Favorite Fishing Charters, Biloxi Business Men's Club Award for 50 years of Service in the charter boat business. His most memorable honor was being inducted into the IGFA Hall of Fame in 2016. Captain Jay's son, Dustin runs trips aboard 'Big Fish' and focuses on inshore light tackle trips. If you want some juicy table fare, book a trip with him.
