Zanzibar Big Game Fishing invites you to explore some fine angling on the internationally recognized grounds. Fish the bank and the channel between Pemba and Zanzibar. Enjoy the thrilling experience you won’t soon forget!
Whether you’re looking for a short trip to check what’d biting or want to get the waters all to yourself, you have found the right place. The crew specializes in various fishing techniques and styles to catch big fish. From deep sea fishing to jigging, they can do it all.
On your day out, you will be heading to Leven Bank to search for large schools of fish. Your potential target will be Kingfish, Mahi Mahi, Black Marlin, Trevally, Tuna, Wahoo, Barracuda, and many more.
Zanzibar Big Game Fishing will take you out aboard the ‘Suli Suli’, a local favorite. She is a 26’ open deck boat which is an ideal vessel for the job of fishing. The Suli Suli is equipped with a fighting chair for those who are up to a challenge. She comes powered by two 40 HP Yamaha engine and can cover a lot of ground.
The Suli Suli is not pretentious; her design is simple and comfortable. She is well suited for a fun day out in the sun. There is plenty of space and shade aboard for up to four anglers.
The trips aboard the Suli Suli are all-inclusive. Shimano gear and tackle, along with bait, drinks, snacks, and lunch on full-days are available.

Few hours in the morning popping with my own tackle, trying go catch a GT at Leven Bank. No luck with the fish, but overall a good experience and high level of service with fishing plan catered according to my request. Crew experienced the most in trolling.

The crew were excellent and the boat, Suli Suli, exactly as expected. Fishing is always a game of luck and skill and we were unfortunate not to have a single take across the 5 hours.
The crew did everything they could, we did catch a fleeting glimpse of dolphins at the back of a shoal of smaller bait fish, there were sandwiches and soft drinks provided etc etc.
However it's still difficult not to feel disappointed, we were told that all 4 of the company's boats were out that morning and none of them caught that morning. This is not a cheap excursion so it's important to go into it prepared that you may be paying the money just to drive around on a boat for 5 hours!
That being said I cant fault the crew, and the boat was just as I expected!

I know every fisherman gets disappointed for not getting a catch. Thank you for expressing this and I wish to reiterate that it was just not a good day out for fishing. Only a true fisherman knows that there are days you get and there are days you don't catch anything. That is why it is called fishing and not catching.

I sent this to the owner after the journey
'Hi,
Unfortunately my son (who is autistic) got too freaked out by the small boat and heavy waves so we had to curtail the journey to just two hours. We have been on rough seas before but I think the size of the boat this time was very small in comparison so it felt quite horrific. I know they mentioned the wind changed and it had gotten worse but for a boat this size i would have cancelled if I had known tbh.'
My advice is to pay extra for a bigger boat. This company does have bigger boats.
This review is for the smallest one only.
Sonar would probably help too.
