Fishing Adventures Ireland and Skipper Séan invite you to explore the beautiful Loop Head Peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way. The company operates out of Kilbaha, County Clare. That small fishing village is located just a mile from Loop Head lighthouse in a sheltered bay.

Your fishing trip will begin early in the morning. Skipper Séan will greet you with a warm welcome aboard the ‘Lady Gwen II’, a 33’ Lochin boat. She is a spacious and comfortable craft, built in Rye Sussex. The Lady Gwen II was uphauled with the state of the art navigational and fish finding electronics by Simrad and Garmin.

The Lady Gwen II comes powered by a 265 HP Perkins engine. She is outfitted with rods and reels by the leading brands, such as Abu Garcia, Penn, and Shakespeare.

You will be fishing the reefs and sandy bottoms of the Shannon Estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, using a range of fishing techniques, such as drift fishing, jigging, and bottom fishing.

The list of your potential targets will include crème de la crème of the local waters. You will be able to get your hands on Cod, John Dory, Haddock, Conger Eel, Pollock, Ray, Skate, and Whiting to name a few. There are also a few octopuses around, along with Porbeagle, Tope, and Blue Sharks.

Fishing Adventures Ireland will provide you with gear and tackle, but you are welcome to bring your own.

    Half day fishing trip on the Atlantic Ocean or the Shannon estuary. This is for groups that maybe don't want to spend a full day on the Ocean. These groups are limited to six people or less, and only weekday's. They usually start early in the morning or afternoon. Whoever book's first usually gets the morning trip. Please check beforehand to confirm time as we are dependant on tides.

Séan Maguire is a local skipper, born and raised in west Clare on the Loop Head Peninsula, Ireland. He began his career on a commercial fishing boat, mastering the waters from Kilkee and Kilbaha. In 1999, Séan started guiding fishing charters. Having worked with Kilrush Creek Marina and Carrigaholt, he gained a vast knowledge of the mighty Atlantic Ocean and the Shannon Estuary. Séan learned how the fish move, what they think, and where to find them.
