Nano is knowledgeable and hardworking. I enjoyed my first full day excursion so much I rebooked him for a second full day. We caught Jack Crevalle with a spin rod and targeted Tarpon and Bone on fly rods. Tarpon fishing was not easy. Lots of drifting the flats hoping to spot a Tarpon. When you do spot one all the stars have to align - right location relative to wind and boat, fish heading in the right direction, perfect cast, perfect presentation, then if you’re lucky you will set the hook if one strikes. You will catch much more fish if you just target Bones. Highly recommend Nano.

My adult son and I traveled to Belize March **hidden content** and spent three full days on the water fishing with Nano. It was fantastic. First, Nano is a great guy and very pleasant to hang out with. Based on past experience, this is incredibly important when committing to lock yourself into a small confined space with someone for hours and hours, and in our case, multiple days. Second, Nano has been guiding off Ambergis Caye for over 20 years. He’s incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and patient. Also, he’s genuinely excited by and passionate about spotting fish and helping his clients land them. Within a couple of hours on our first fishing day, my son brought in a good sized tarpon. Although there were hours when the fishing was slow, Nano was constantly working hard to get us onto fish and give us every opportunity to catch them. In addition to tarpon, we caught numerous jack, snapper and multiple other smaller fish, including barracuda. I highly recommend Nano for a great Belize fishing experience.

My 9 yo son and I had an awesome day with Captain Nano. We fished the Lagoons due to poor conditions on the flats. Nano is a really good guide. He put us on fish and help us learn the Bonefish game. Nano worked with my son Oliver, and he nailed two bones on his own. Nano was patient and professional. And of course he said, “No Michael, I said there, not there!” Lol. Great day, great memories and I hope to fish with him again.

Captain Nano is a super all around guide for the flats.  He knows where the fish are.  Being my first bonefish experience, he taught me tips and techniques for those skittish critters, and we tore ‘em up.  Captain Nano prefers the finesse of hunting and attracting individual fish to the fly, versus spending a lot of time searching for large schools to target blind casting.  So his philosophy was a great match for my expectations.

I have wanted to fish the flats of Belize for over 30 years and was finally able to make the trip. It was hard for me to keep my expectations realistic, but fishing with Captain Nano exceeded my hopes. His knowledge of the vast flats in the area and how winds and tides would affect them put us consistently around fish for all three days. We consistently had opportunities at bones, permit, and tarpon, and a more experienced angler probably would have had grand slams on two of three days. Captain Nano is an outstanding, patient teacher, and he has a pleasant, kind personality—a great man to share the boat with! I am confident you will have the time of your life with him!
