Alaskan 4 Star Charters
It's time to plan your next fishing trip, and head over to Whittier for a day with Captain Jody and the Alaskan 4 Star Charters. Capt. Jody has been fishing in this area for 5 decades! It's safe to say he'll take you to the best spots where he knows the bite to be good regularly.
These trips are good for 6 people on the 35' Epic aluminum boat. There is plenty of shelter from the elements on board. The boat has twin engines that will get you far out to the fishing grounds faster than other boats.
The trips are 11 hours long as the ride to the fishing grounds will take a minimum of 2 hours. Children of all ages are welcome – your captain and crew love having little ones aboard! The captain suggests adding some Black Bass fishing to the trip to keep it interesting for the kids.
You'll be able to target Coho, Chum, Sockeye, Pink, and Chinook Salmon, as well as Halibut, Lingcod, Seabass, Rockfish, and more. The Salmon can put up a good fight and are delicious to eat. Halibut can grow to huge lengths and are also prized at the dinner table. The captain will advise what you can keep and which should be released.
You'll need to bring plenty of layers with you – you can always take off layers but you can't put on what you don't have! Wear light-soled shoes and have a rain jacket with you. You'll need to bring a fishing license along – it's best to buy this before the trip to not eat into your fishing time. One small cooler of food and drink can be bought along, but please be aware there is limited space on board.
After the trip, the captain will direct you to the best places to have your fish vacuum packed and sent home.
Book the trip of a lifetime with Alaskan 4 Star Charters now!
***IMPORTANT NOTICE***
Halibut Stamp Tax is being introduced where all anglers fishing for Halibut will need to pay $20 directly to the captain who then settles the tax with the government. This tax is not included in the trip prices displayed below.

I got off Discovery Princess at 6:15 AM. Capt. Jody was waiting for me in the parking lot for a two minute drive to the marina. It was a glorious day on the water, sea lions, whales breeching, glaciers, snow capped mountains and constant Halibut and Cod! Capt. Darryl filleted the fish and guided us to where you ship your catch home! Both men paid particular attention to the 5 year old fisherman with an electric reel who went on to catch many fish in 300 to 400’ depths. Both captains treated the fisherman like family! Great guys! Outstanding day!
Thomas. thanks so much for the kind words. buddy your always welcome on my boat. can't wait to here about your adventures and get you back on the waters of PWS. see you again....
captain and first mate were great and knowledgeable. got us on the fish and kept us catching fish
Hay, thanks for an amazing trip you guys all were great i hope to see you again.

Super knowledgeable crew! Not only did they have their spots to target for the different types of fish, they also had a lot of history to share on the area, since they are one of the longest running guide services running out of Whittier.
thanks buddy. we try our best. hope this is not the only trip you have with us. stay intouch after all your family now. lol

Crew really made you feel like family, Captian put us right on the fish and made sure everyone had a great time and caught fish. We limited out on Halibut, and caught a handfull of great looking Cod. If I'm in Whittier again I would use 4 Star
