Mike’s Fishing Charters - Gisele
It’s an indisputable fact that Mike’s Fishing Charters & Tours has one of the largest fleets in this part of Mexico. If you decide on going with Gisele, you can opt for trips that entail anything from quick 4-hour morning trips to 14-hour offshore adventures after big and challenging fish.
The Gisele is a custom-built 42’ offshore sportfishing boat, powered by twin 315 HP Cummins engines. It can take up to 12 guests, but 6-8 anglers are the optimal number, especially when it comes to longer trips. She was completely restored in 2014, and now has a completely air-conditioned cabin, an enclosed head, and quality electronics.
The exact places you’ll be fishing depend on how much time you want to spend on the water as well as what you’re after. Inshore bays are great places to go after Jacks, Roosterfish and Spanish Mackerel, and are generally suitable for shorter trips. Longer trips will have you going offshore, where you’ll be pitted against the likes of Tuna, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and Marlin.
Quality tackle from Penn International is included in the price of any given trip, as are bait, lures, and bottled water. Once the trip is over, the crew can clean the catch for your convenience. Pickup at an alternative port can also be arranged, including Nuevo Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, and Punta de Mita. With a great boat and professional crew, there’s nothing stopping you from exploring some of the best fishing grounds out there.
