The Islandhooker Sportfishing crew will provide you with the very best fishing experience that Ft. Lauderdale has to offer! Besides having a safe, exiting, fun and memorable fishing trip, you’ll actually have the chance to fish with world famous Captain Kenny Schneeman (One Oar), who holds his USCG 1600 ton all oceans license, the largest of any Charter boat Captain in Ft. Lauderdale. He has caught tournament winning “Blue Marlin” as well as currently holding 2 light line world records for Bluefin Tuna. The first mate is also a local legend - Joey Gervasi.
You’ll fish from their Hatteras sportfisherman, measuring 46 feet in length. She’s been built way back in 1977, but restored recently (in 2017), meaning she’s got all the experience in the world but no marks of age. Powered by two huge Detroit engines she can develop a maximum cruising speed of 22 knots, respectable for her size. Outriggers, a flybridge, and a fighting chair are all available on board, to give you an edge in reeling in that dream catch. Comfort wasn’t skimped on either, as you can find a full-head toilet, a bed, and an A/C cabin for R&R after you reel in a big one!
Captain Kenny will be your guide and assistant on this charter, lending his expertise to you, whichever fish you choose to target. You can target quite a few too, Sailfish, Swordfish, Mahi Mahi, Red Snappers, Black and Red Groupers, just to name a few. The techniques used to catch these beauties are also varied; light and heavy tackle used for bottom fishing or jigging, trolling, or even kite fishing.
Children are welcome to Islandhooker Sportfishing, but the minimum age policy is 5 years old. Refreshments are included on all trips. The crew will clean and fillet your catch free of charge, though gratuity is appreciated. Rest easy as the first mate, Joey, is one of the top 3 in the area! All required equipment is provided, just remember to bring a good attitude!
