Salty Rods Charters 

We had such an awesome time with Salty Rods Fishing Charter and Captain Bubba! We went out with my 13-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter, and Captain Bubba was so great with the kids. He was patient, easygoing, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and knew what to do. One of the coolest parts was catching our own live bait – the kids thought that was the best thing ever. We ended up catching shark and stingray, which was so exciting for all of us. The whole trip was fun, laid-back, and memorable. Highly recommend booking with Captain Bubba if you want a great day out on the water with your family!

We made the most of a tough bite. We were one of the few boats consistently catching fish. Morning started out slow but as the water got moving we tied into a few finetooth sharks, as that bite slowed we got a report of another bite, moved spots and finished the day off with a good sized eater blacktip. Captain and crew were very friendly and knowledgeable. The captian had a contract he gave me for shark jaw mounting and gave us a restaurant recommendation that needed up being the best food we ate all trip. Salty Rods know their stuff.

Salty Rod Charters didn’t take us fishing. They took us into battle. 🎣 10 black tip sharks caught 🦈 1 ego bruised (and a little of my body) 💪 Captain Bubba = part fisherman, part sea shaman 🌊 Young Darren = built like a Sea wrangler with a heart of gold Would I go again? Already packing my cooler!

Visiting Galveston to go on a cruise and had an extra day. The team called and warned of worsening weather that day and asked us if we could arrive early, which worked well for our schedule. Once on the boat, captain Bubba said the bay and jetty are poor fishing this time of year and took us out to deeper water (about 25'). We caught 5 black drum between 35 and about 55 lbs. We did catch and release. It was a great experience and Captain Bubba and deckhand Jason were great. They chatted as we fished and made some recommendations for the rest of our trip. The weather was perfect, and I was in short sleeves in early February while fishing. Our crew recommended the shark hunt during warmer months. Overall an excellent experience for my wife and I.

Cpt Bubba was great we are thinking about adopting him into our MC. When fishing was slow he made up for it with his adult humor. Hail to Cpt Bubba! Bubba worked very hard to get us into the action. Even when the bite slowed down it was still a great time. From the Kansas Boys

My family and I came to Galveston for the week and we are glad we booked a fishing trip with Salty Rods! Our captain was knowledgeable, he was attentive to any need we may have had, and most of all he had a great sense of humor!! We will definitely book another trip on our next trip.

Bubba and Bob were amazing! They shared stories and experiences as well as their knowledge of the fish and fishing the gulf! They were fun and made sure they did everything in their power for us to catch fish! I highly recommend them!!

Awesome trip out with Captain Bubba! We had three adults and 2 boys (5&6), had a little sea sickness and water was a bit rough where we were so he took us to where the water was calmer since he had little ones aboard. If you want a trip out that is tailored to fit you, experienced captains, and a great experience overall book with Salty Rods! Captain explained everything, we caught lots of bait fish and that was the most fun for us newbies. Catching a shark was also fun but alot more work and patience. Would definitely recomend to everyone.

We caught fish! 1st time deep sea fishing . We loved the shark fishing! Conversation was fun and Bubba and Doug took care of all our needs! For us it was a fishing trip come true! I would highly recommend these guys!
