Medusa Sportfishing 

Captain and first mate were experienced, knowledgeable and friendly.

My kids ages 15 and 12 had a great time with Lance’s associates Jackson and James. We caught a TON of fish - both kids literally simultaneously got a 30 pound spearfish, and then the older one got a mother-lode 110 pound ahi yellowfin tuna!!! We also release a maybe 150 pound Blue Marlin. Weirdly they got everything in the first 3 hours of the 8 hour trip - that is how fishing goes. The ahi was just incredibly memorable - they found us a group of literally up to 100 dolphins plus all sorts of birds flying on top - with lots of fish around all that commotion. Which is what the ahi came out of. Jackson and James were also excellent with my 12 year old - who wanted to talk fishing literally the whole time. Muffins and soft drinks and water were a nice touch too. My wife appreciated the bathroom on the boat. All in all - great! We will look up Lance again next time on BI!

The day was perfect! Beautiful scenery great water and a fantastic Captain and deck hand. Both were extremely knowledgeable and great conversation. Had a fantastic trip. We caught a huge spearfish and a good size Mahi Mahi. Super fun fights and action packed. I will and would recommend fishing with them to everyone I talk to about Kona fishing. Great day!

Capt Lance and his mate, Jack, were a couple of ol' salty fellas. Nice boat with top notch gear and a lifetime of experience on the water. I am a hardcore offshore fisherman from Florida and I must say the experience on the Medusa is one my wife and I will never forget. We boated two striped Marlin and a giant spearfish. Captain let us keep as much fish as we wanted. There was plenty of room inside to rest and take it in while waiting for a strike. It was the bluest water I had ever seen and was glad we chose to go with the full day to give us more of a chance to hit the fish. Looking for a good time for a reasonable price don't hesitate to book the Medusa with captain Lance.

As an avid mainland fisherman. I totally understand that nothing is guaranteed when fishing. Except for two things… effort and attitude! Capt. Lance and First Mate Jack did not disappoint! We had a slow morning but the time passed quickly with great conversation with Lance and Jack. And then… BOOM! The fish of a lifetime!! Not just a fish of a lifetime, a memory of a lifetime! Getting to watch your son land a 450lb Blue Marlin, surreal! Lance made the boat dance with the fish while Jack controlled chaos like a magician. If you are wondering if this is the right fishing charter, I can tell you this. It’s fishing, no charter will guarantee you fish. Lance and Jack will put the effort in to putting you on fish and are awesome people! Thank you fellas for the lifetime memory!

First time out with the family. Hooked a blue Marlin within an hour. Oldest kid was in the chair reeling it in, the other kid was puking his guts out. Great character building for all. First kid eventually puked too. He says it was worth it. Captain and first mate were exceptional. Both loved being on the water and were happy to turn the boat around when asked. Highly recommend.

Captain and crew were so great! My son was looking forward to this the most about our trip and they made it memorable!

Captain and crew were friendly and easy to talk with. Boat was ready to go and we left on time. Fishing has been slow for most of the boats but we still managed to bring one Blue Marlin up to the boat and it was successfully released. We had a great time.

My wife, son and I fish Maui each year and were excited to try our luck during a 2-day excursion to Hilo/Kona. Captain Lance and Jake were great hosts and a huge highlight was when my 10 year old son hauled in a 5’-6”, 35 lb Spearfish!! They were as happy for him as we were!

Crew was great and helpful, even if we hadn’t caught fish it would have been a amazing day.
