Getter Done Charters Nanaimo winter season 

Travelled from Alberta with the grand boys during Spring break knowing the weather can be challenging at times. Best for them to experience fishing on the coast in March rather than the last trip they had with Brannen in August when fishing was tropical. Weather window worked out perfect with sun and a bit of wind but no rain. Brannen was a great skipper and a passionate experienced fisherman, the boys had a great time. Lost count of the fish we had to release including 1 Rock Cod and ! Pacific Cod. The Keeper was a 10 lb. Chinook. Yes this would be a repeat charter next time on the Coast. Oh, forgot the, crabs 4 keepers. Terry

Awesome trip! Brannen went above and beyond to make a truly memorable trip. Down to earth yet professional at the same time. Our group ranged from 9-73 years old and everyone was comfortable and excited start to finish. Brannen shared his extensive knowledge and then tested the kids, pulling heads and tails from the bait bucket then encouraging them to identify as Koho or Chinook. We each got the experience we wanted, from sitting back and watching the Captain tirelessly work to getting hands on and helping set/retrieve traps and clean the catch. And of course cranking in those Chinook was a highlight! 100% recommended.

My friends and I had a great time fishing, the weather was amazing, and the scenery was like out of a painting! The captain was fun and we all got along really well. He was very prepared and knowledgeable and taught us a lot about fishing and worked hard all day for us! As soon as he set the rod a fish was on! Lots of action but not many keepers unfortunately. But the one salmon we brought home was delicious! And that crabs were the best we’ve had. I’d recommend him for sure, and will book again in the summer when there’s more keepable salmon. Overall wonderful day!

Captain Brannen took us out for the half day charter and we had a blast. We caught lots of Koho and Chinook salmon. The captain was very knowledgeable of the area as well as the wildlife and was great to hangout with for the afternoon. Very personable. The wind was up so the water was a bit rough but his boat handled it very well. We will definitely be booking again with Getter Done Charters next time I'm out!

We had an amazing time. We are fortunate to fish all around the world and are fortunate to have spent time fishing with Brannen! Born and raised in Nanaimo, and his lifetime of experience shows in the catch and in his ability to make you want to come back to his hometown and fish again. Salmon, Dungeness Crab and Prawns, what else could you ask for. We will absolutely fish with Getter Done Charters and Brannen again soon!

Brannen is an amazing Captain… knowledgeable about the local area and is a professional guide and outdoorsman… highly recommend.

After dropping crab and prawn traps Captain Brannon took us to a ridge offshore where it looked like small bait fish were congregating. He set up the first rod and literally within seconds we had our first Chinook salmon on the line! We then caught many more Chinook, Coho and a Rockfish (out of season so back he went), emptied our prawn traps and learned how to sex prawns since the females were returned to spawn. Brannon was informed and informative and we have just finished a dinner with fresh Chinook salmon and shrimp our daughter gently seared in fresh garlic butter! We'll be back!

Went out with my brother-in-law on 11/25/24 for winter chinook fishing after we recovered from the Bomb Cyclone. It was a cold day but Brannan worked his magic to hook us into some large Chinook. For my brother-in-law, a 70 year old man from the California desert with no fishing experience, Brannan was an excellent teacher. While we didn't set traps for crab and shrimp (our choice), this is a fantastic option for those who want to have a large family cookout in warmer weather. We definitely recommend this charter any time of year.
