Mid-July–the end of season we target coho, sockeye, chum and pink (meeting 30-90 min north of Anchorage) After the 3rd week of August, (meeting 30 min- 2 hours north of Anchorage) many salmon are spawning or have spawned; they stop feeding and their bodies break down leaving their meat less than desirable. Guests should expect more catch-and-release at this time. Location shown is also TBD and can change up to the day before your trip. Notification email will be sent,

Our family had an amazing time fishing the Knik River. The scenery was absolutely spectacular, and the experience was one we’ll always remember. Addyson was thrilled to catch a salmon, which made the trip even more special. Captain did an outstanding job taking care of our family, making everyone feel comfortable, and putting us on the fish. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better day on the water. Thank you for an unforgettable Alaska experience. Highly recommend!

Our guide, Doug, was excellent. Super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and generally an awesome guy. The weather and scenery made the day worth it, even though we didn’t land a fish. Had a few nibbles and one on the line that got away. Based on everything I read/saw prior to booking, I’d never believe we wouldn’t catch a boatload of fish if you’d have told me that ahead of time, but here we are. No regrets!!!

Even though we didn't catch any fish, other people on the boat did (Including a massive King Salmon!!), which is awesome since we were fishing towards the tailend of the season, our guide was friendly and had some fun stories to share with us. Overall I would go out again when the salmon were running a little earlier.

Ray was awesome even though the fish weren’t biting but thats fishing. seeing the mother bear and 2 cubs standing on their hind legs, seeing the piebald moose and her newborn calf trying to climb the riverbank and seeing the eagles made it very memorable! thanks for the memories
