    Amazing time

we had such a good time, the only downside was the heat and shade but nothing to do with the crew, they were incredible and help you so much along the way. if we ever came back, we would definatly go again. thank you both

    (Half a day Fishing Trip)

    Good trip!

(Sfakia Full Day Fishing & Swimming)

Dusky Grouper is a prized reef-dwelling sport fish known for power and grit. Anglers love its stubborn fights and great table quality. You will find it tight to rocks, reefs, and wrecks, where it ambushes bait fish and crustaceans.

Most crews target Dusky Grouper by bottom fishing over hard structure. Bottom fishing means dropping natural bait to the seafloor and waiting for a bite. Jigging also works well, using a weighted lure worked up and down near structure. Live bait is a top choice, but cut bait and jigs get crushed, too. Many anglers use stout spinning or conventional gear, braided line, and a tough fluorocarbon leader.

Expect short runs, heavy headshakes, and a slugfest near cover. This is hands-on, action-focused fishing that suits beginners and seasoned anglers alike. Captains often suggest an early start and steady chum or fresh bait. Bring sun protection, a hat, polarized sunglasses, and non-slip shoes. If you get seasick, consider motion medicine in advance. Your charter will usually provide tackle and bait, but confirm before the trip.

Rules for Dusky Grouper can be strict because this species grows slowly. Always check local fishing license and permit needs before you go. Review current seasons, size limits, and bag limits where you plan to fish. Some areas may require catch-and-release or have closed zones around reefs. When in doubt, ask your captain and follow local regulations.
