Capt. Tripp runs trips out of Manteo aboard a 25' C-Hawk center console. These waters are known for Redfish and Speckled Trout and he will show you how to catch them, whether you're jigging or using bait. With extensive knowledge of the area, he has a trick or two up his sleeve, and the only way to learn is to join him out on the water!

Halvdagstur – Kystnært (Eftermiddag)Cannot say enough about Captain Tripp. Great communication while in the process of booking a trip with him and answers all questions quick. As far as fishing this guy busts his butt to get you on fish and makes the “tripp” as enjoyable as possible. Most charters wouldn’t even go out because of the wind but Captain took us to a few spots where the wind played in our favor and put us on some good sized bluefish and drum. I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a fun time inshore. Capt grew up on the outer banks and you can tell he’s at home on the water.

He is probably in his mid 20’s but has been on the waters of OBX since he was very young and is a very experienced waterman. We were unsuccessful at first, but he moved locations and before long we were all catching fish. We’ve been on several charters as a family and this was by far the most fun we’ve had with any Captain. We will definitely book with Cpt. Tripp the next time we are in the Outer Banks. Highly Recommend!

Tripp had a plan to get us out of the wind and on fish that were currently active. The boys were pulling in some monsters right away. Local and knowledgeable Captain that made sure we were comfortable and on the fish. What more can you ask for.

Halvdagstur - (Eftermiddag)Girls & I went on a Sunset Boat Ride with Captain Tripp. Captain is as friendly as they come, knows the waters, and has a clean boat. He grew up here and knows all the local facts and spots. A Gorgeous Sunset! Can’t recommend him enough!

Hunter’s first fish on a poppin’ cork

This past Saturday Hunter and his dad, Phil, had come down from Virginia to do some Outer Banks fall fishing. They were gifted with favorable weather this weekend and so Hunter thought that it would be nice to take his dad out on a charter. Luckily I was available to take them out Saturday evening to enjoy a beautiful afternoon on the Pamlico Sound near Oregon Inlet. Hunter requested that we started out the trip casting for some red drum and possibly speckled trout. So we started at a spot for just that. After 15 minutes Hunter hooked his first fish of the day. It was a 25.75” red drum that had taken off like a rocket which made all of us think it was going to be something much larger. But once he was scooped up in the net, we knew Hunter and his dad had just caught the perfect sized red drum to take home for dinner! With red drum regulations only allowing you to keep fish longer than 18” and less than 27” to help protect the larger fish and allow them to spawn and grow the fishery. A little later on Hunter caught another keeper sized drum which also was a circus of a fight as the fish got hooked and instantly swam right to the boat confusing all of us making us think Hunter had lost the fish when he hadn’t. It was lots of fun! We then got to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the water and shortly after headed for home! A great evening spent making new friends doing the things we all love to do! Speckled Trout!
