I am a student of the great angling masters and highly educated on the fisheries in my location. I maintain all required credentials, licenses, permits and $1,000,000 commercial marine insurance to be entrusted with your safety and charter needs. I am an extremely popular inshore fishing guide because my power and expertise on the skiff's poling platform provides safe and unparalleled fishing adventures. Each trip is customized for adults and delighting youngsters for parental smiles, or serious angling as I am extremely competitive and have won many awards as both angler and guide from tournaments in the Florida Keys. I am USCG Master Captain, a respected member of the National Association of Charter Boat Operators, the Florida Guides Association and the Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association. I am a fly fishing specialist and do my best by EVERY angler to ensure a fun, fulfilling experience fishing the beautiful upper Florida Keys.

    Backcountry fishing

    Larry did a great job of stayong positive and worked hard. He had plenty of spots to fish. I was picky—looking for permit on a fly rod—so focusing on that meant passing other opportunities. Larry knows his stuff and his boat in incredible! Best O have ever been on and I have foshed all over the Caribbean. The only thing that would have made this the “best trip ever” was landing a permit. Next time!

    Yes, Jason had a singular tough target - one of the most difficult sportfish to catch let alone on fly! but that is the fun of it, an impressive challenge. He gets a lot of credit for sticking with his pursuit of a permit on fly.

    Capt Larry was very knowledgeable, and the equipment was great. He was extremely hard working, trying his best to get us hooked up.

    Enjoyed guiding father and young tween/teen son Saxxon who brought great energy and as fishing is not a guaranteed results sport it was a challenge this morning for their half day charter. More time on the water may have helped.

    I just wanted to share that I had a fantastic time fishing with Larry recently. We caught a variety of fish, and I truly loved being on the water. Larry is such a great guide - he really knows how to make the experience enjoyable!

    Had an awesome time guiding Jade and her father Lloyd on their first guided charter and they did a great job, with Jade bringing in Snook, jumping a tarpon, and catching black drum and trout plus big jacks. Enjoyed guiding sister Brittny shown here with a juvenile tarpon.

    Capt Larry knows where to fish!

    Capt Larry quickly adapted to my son and my level of skill/desired fish and led us on a great fishing experience. You have a great day when you catch different types of fish and lose count of the catch. The bonefish was the ellusive catch of the day. Highly recommend!

Fall fishing and wildlife sightings

I want everyone to realize fall fishing can also be so wonderful as the chance of seeing amazing wildlife is high - white pelicans, roseatte spoonbills I’m, and even possibly pink flamingos along with the occasional crocodile.

Fall Florida Keys Fishing ENCOUNTER

In the fall, you get WAY more than fishing on your guided charter. The Florida Keys backcountry, inshore fishing is calm, beautiful, serene and offers the BONUS of spectacular wildlife sightings for a heightened inspirational uplifting experience courtesy of Mother Nature . It is a truly glorious occurrence beyond just catching fish which is pretty awesome by itself. A fall charter offers a breathtaking visual in addition to the opportunity presented while fishing for juvenile tarpon, snook, reds, mackerel, jacks, trout and the fun shark catch.

Another tournament win

Yes, Capt. Larry Sydnor guided Islamorada's own Betsy Bullard when she came through at last weekend's Herman Lucerne 7-species fishing tournament taking home three awards that takes place entirely within Everglades National Park boundaries catching and releasing 6 species to take TOP FEMALE GUIDED, GENERAL DIVISION WINNER, and LARGEST SNAPPER @ 19.5"!! Only the snook eluded us - all were under the required 28", twice missing it by under a HALF INCH (FULL MOON?)
