Welcome to Smackdown Sportfishing - your gateway to the amazing and memorable experience of fishing for Salmon, Trout, Walleye, and other species on Lake Ontario, with custom fishing trips to Lake Erie/Huron.
My name is Captain Vlad and I am inviting you to join me for trip of a lifetime fishing for salmon, trout and walleye. I am dedicated to providing my guests with unforgettable fishing adventure, making memories, putting smiles on their faces and fish in the boat! Should you wish, your catch will be cleaned and filleted to be cooked and served at the family dinner.
I have been fishing since I was a child back in Ukraine. Though I am relatively new to Great Lakes and chartering, I am very enthusiastic and meticulous about the proper trip planning, execution and achieving results. This ensures, trip after trip, great success.
All guests are automatically entered into the SCGFA Spring Salmon Derby, the GOSD Salmon Derby, and the SCGFA Fall Derby. Over the past seasons, I am proud to say that all I have won and shared over $10,000 in prizes with my guests.
You will be fishing in a 26ft Albemarle 265 Fisherman Express, new for 2025 season! This boat is equipped with a very powerful 375HP Volvo Penta and a 9.9 HP Yamaha kicker. This boat is fully rigged for big water with latest electronics and it ensures a comfortable fishing experience.
The charter service will cover various prime fishing locations of Lake Ontario. We generally start the season in the south shore of Lake Ontario, with trips departing from Port Dalhousie, until approximately late May. As the springs transitions into the summer, the trips will be done from Bluffers Park Marina until approximately early October. In the fall, we return to the south shore and fish from Port Dalhousie weather-permitting until the end of the season.
Guests are asked to bring only their favorite snacks and drinks, fishing license. I will always call you the day before and advise on proper clothing as well for the upcoming trip. We have everything else on the boat including high-quality sunscreen that we use in our family.
Whether seasoned anglers or novices eager to learn about Great Lakes fishing, I invite you to join me for an unforgettable fishing experience. Book your next adventure today and create lasting memories on the water!

Halvdagstur (Eftermiddag) 5-6 timer (Maj-Okt) • 3 voksneThis was a wonderful trip and we caught about 10 fish of different varieties including King Salmon and Rainbow Trout. Captain Vlad is very good and also very kind and goes above and beyond to ensure you, your friends and family are comfortable and have an enjoyable experience. He is always willing to share his knowledge with those willing to learn. I will definitely recommend Captain Vlad to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing and educational experience and yes catching some big fish.

Halvdagstur (AM) 5-6 timer (Maj-Okt)I want to express my huge gratitude to Vlad for organizing an unforgettable fishing experience! 🐟 Everything is top-notch — modern equipment that makes the process as comfortable and efficient as possible. But the most impressive thing is Vlad himself: during the entire fishing trip, he literally doesn’t sit idle for a minute, always nearby, helping, guiding, and creating a great atmosphere. You can feel that he truly puts his heart into what he does, and his main goal is to give clients amazing emotions, not just to make money. I’ve been fishing with Vlad twice, and both times it felt like a little celebration. All the friends I brought along were absolutely thrilled! Vlad is the kind of person who turns fishing into a real adventure, and the memories last a long time. I wholeheartedly recommend him! 🎣

Halvdagstur (AM) 5-6 timer (Maj-Okt) • 3 voksneJust wrapped up my second trip with Captain Vlad, and it was even better than the first! We landed over a dozen big, hard-fighting fish—nonstop action and an absolute blast from start to finish. Captain Vlad continues to impress with his laid-back, friendly vibe that makes the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. He’s not only incredibly knowledgeable on the water, but also well-connected with other seasoned fishermen, which clearly plays a role in his consistent success. If you’re looking for a captain who knows how to find fish, keep things fun, and create unforgettable memories, look no further. I’m already looking forward to many more “Smackdown Fishing” adventures with Captain Vlad!

Heldagstur Morgen 8t (Maj-Okt) • 2 voksneIt wasn’t the easiest day out on the water—conditions made us work for it—but every minute was worth it when we landed a stunning 15 lb King salmon! The sunrise over the lake was absolutely breathtaking, and Captain Vlad’s boat was fully loaded with top-notch gear to give us the best chance at success. Captain Vlad was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. His experience and calm attitude made the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. The boat setup was impressive—clean, well-organized, and equipped for serious fishing. Highly recommend this charter to anyone looking for an authentic and rewarding Lake Ontario fishing experience. Can’t wait to be back!
