Grew up in Gilbert, SC near Lake Murry. Enjoyed fishing in my grandpa's pond catching bass, catfish, brim, and crappie. Fished Lake Murry mostly from the bank targeting schooling stripers and walking way back into the creeks catching perch, brim and crappie on very light spinning tackle. Started work at BassPro Shops in 2004 where I gained a wealth of knowledge about the fishing world from a retail and equipment development perspective. Amazing what work and technology is put into developing fishing gear to increase and improve our fishing experience. I use sensitive rods and braided line that allows the angler to feel the most sensitive bite. Once a fish is hooked you get to feel every single head shake and tail slap. We are not fishing in Grandpa's pond or with his equipment! Come on out and let's fishing! Saltwater fishing is so exciting because you just never know what you might catch. Sure, we are targeting certain species but sharks, eels, octopus, stingrays and all sorts of critter bite a hook from time to time. There is no shortage of wildlife in our area along the ride either. Look for bald eagles, alligators, sea turtles, and dolphins are common to see on each trip.

    Sjov tur, fantastisk kaptajn!

    Vi havde en fantastisk morgen med kaptajn Jacob. Han sørgede for dejligt vejr! Han håbede, at vi ville fange mere end vi gjorde, men vi var begge meget glade for det, vi fangede, og vores oplevelse. Jeg fangede mere og større fisk end min forlovede, og det er egentlig det eneste, der tæller 😂 Det var min første havfiskeri-oplevelse, og Jacob gjorde det nemt og uforglemmelig! Vil helt sikkert booke igen næste år.

    Kaptajn Jacob var fantastisk! Vi fangede lidt af hvert, fra flere pigrokkere til ørred, til stortandede hvarrer, til sorttrommefisk, til fårehovedhavrude, og endda en lille haj. Alt i alt en fantastisk oplevelse, med masser af grin fra alle, og en absolut smuk dag at være ude på intercoastal!! Kan varmt anbefales, hvis du er i området!

August 2025 Fishing Report

August is often referred to as the dog days of summer. Fishing can be difficult this time of year. Experience and knowledge to overcome these challenges are important to put real fish in the boat. Of course, fishing charters are not always about just catching fish. This is entertainment and sometimes the fish just don't want to entertain. That's where sightseeing, jokes, stories, and just good conversation come into play. A good captain will keep you entertained no matter what happens out there. I would much rather the fish entertain, because it makes my job easier and well catching fish gets me in a better mood to entertain as well. As I look back at the pictures and reflect on some of our trips this August the fish definitely kept us entertain. Looking forward to September and some really good fishing as the water temperatures start to cool down. See ya on the water!

May 2 hour Kid's Trip

May 22, 2025 • Ocean Isle Beach
We were looking for some little critters to keep the kids busy. We got few good surprises from some nice hard pulling black drum. Our water temperature has really warmed up and all sorts of critters are starting to nibble. Live shrimp and menhaden are filling up our waters and the predator fish are following. Its time, let's go fishing! See ya on the water.

Fall Fishing Right around the Corner

The migration of bait fish and shrimp through or area is happening now. This migration brings large schools of redfish, trout, and black drum through our area. From mid September through Thanksgiving the fishing is as good as it gets. October is the best month to chase redfish. November is the best time to chase trout. Start booking those trips now. Limited availability!

Memorial Day Weekend

May 26, 2024 • Ocean Isle Beach
Live shrimp starting to show up in the creeks which is the favorite food of almost all species we target. With shrimp showing up they bring the fish with them. Perfect timing for some really good fishing action over the holiday. If you haven't already booked your summer trip now is the time before all the best slots get filled. See ya on the water!
