I started fishing at an early age and from there it became my primary passion. I spent many days enjoying time on the water with friends and family and I even spent a couple summers commercial fishing for Tuna and Rockfish during my college years. Eventually I earned a degree in fisheries and started a career in research and aquaculture. Still yearning for more time on the water fishing I decided to get my captain's license to become a fully certified fishing guide. Hazen's Guide Service LLC was formed soon after with the help of my lovely wife. Together we run a family owned business that strives to give all of our guests a top notch experience from start to finish.

    Hazen Guiding Service Review

    We’ve been on two guided trips with Hazen Guiding Service out on the Columbia this year, one for sturgeon and one for salmon. Both days Mike did not disappoint! We hooked lots of fish each time and had a great time doing so. Mike is super knowledgeable, personable & passionate as well as equipped with a nice sturdy set up and we ended each day on a high. He’s got a great attitude, knows what he’s doing and happy to be out there like the rest of us. Whether you’re a first timer or seasoned on the water, I would definitely recommend Hazen Guiding Service and having Mike take you out.

    Sturgeon fishing with Mike

    Mike was an awesome guide to go fishing with, he’s very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his work. We caught a total of 15 sturgeon and the trip was such a great experience. Especially if you go out with family. This was our first family trip and Mike made sure we got to catch some big fish and also let us take some awesome pictures with them. I would 100% recommend anyone who is looking to take their family for a fishing trip to go with Mike. We had six people go out and since we were the first trip to go out on the water with it was very cool to experience it with Mike.

    First time Sturgeon fishing. Mike got us on to fish pretty quick, and kept them coming! We had a great time and will definitely call him next time we are in the area. Highly recommended!

    I loved my fishing trip. Captain Mike was professional, and a good conversationalist. I was lucky one to catch the fish and have the time of my life.

    Full Day Winter Steelhead with Mike

    Mike is the hardest working person I’ve ever met! My son and I had zero experience fishing from a drift boat but Mike made it really easy and taught us both in the first 10 minutes of the trip. I can’t recommend Mike as highly as words will allow. Regardless of your skill level, if you’re hesitant at all about booking at all just do it. He’s by far, the best there is and we have promised ourselves that fishing with Mike is now a family tradition that we will continue for years to come. Thanks Mike! Bryce and I are already talking about the next trip this summer!

Columbia Rivers højsæson nærmer sig sin afslutning i oktober, efterhånden som den sidste Buoy 10-begejstring aftager og Laks bliver sjældne. Fluefiskere vil gøre sig klar til vinter-Steelhead-løbet.
