Captain Alexander Monteagudo has been fishing for almost 20 years now. He´ll take you on an exhilarating experience cruising through the Florida Keys – he knows the waters like the back of his hand. His love for fishing has led him to participate in many fishing tournaments and he enjoys sharing his passion with others.     Alex var fantastisk. Vi fiskede med 3 forskellige charters 3 dage i træk, og Alex gjorde vores sidste dag på vandet til den bedste. Han ramte præcis de arter, vi bad ham om at gå efter. Vi var næsten ved at få en grand slam, men det var bestemt ikke på grund af manglende indsats fra Alex. Den eneste fisk, vi ikke landede, var en tarpon – vi havde bid på tre, men fik dem ikke i båden, men sådan er fiskeri. Alex var super god med min niårige søn og var meget vidende på vandet. Vi vil helt sikkert booke igen, når vi kommer tilbage. Jeg kan varmt anbefale alle, der ønsker at fange kvalitet og kvantitet, at booke med Alex.

    Alex kender baglandet som ingen anden. Han lod os bestemme, hvad vi ville målrette, og hvilken type fiskeri vi ville lave, og så var vi hurtigt i gang. Hans afslappede stil og rolige natur gjorde turen sjov og afslappende. Alex lagde en hel dag i hård jagt. Efter hver art, der blev målrettet og fanget, tilbød han at målrette en anden art eller fortsætte med den nuværende jagt. Denne tur blev taget i marts, og vi havde det fantastisk.

    Lærte Alex at kende gennem programmet "Life by the Bow". Efter at have set ham i programmet, vidste vi, at vi var nødt til at booke et charter med ham. Han levede absolut op til vores forventninger, og vi lægger allerede planer om at besøge Keys igen – bare for at tage ud og fiske med ham!

    Cap'n Alexander var den bedste. Han og båden var klar til at tage af sted tidligt. Den eneste dag, jeg havde til rådighed, bød ikke på godt vejr. Jeg var fast besluttet på at tage ud, og Alexander var ærlig om, at det ville blive hårde forhold. Heldigvis gjorde hans viden og ekspertise det bedste ud af den oprørte sø. Han fik mig på fiskene og der var non-stop action i baglandet. Tjek ham ud, hvis du vil have en erfaren professionel!

    Min søn og jeg havde en fantastisk tur med Alex. Fiskene bed ikke i deres sædvanlige tempo, men han sørgede for, at vi blev ude, indtil vi fangede en snook, hvilket vi begge gjorde. Han har en fantastisk (og tålmodig) væremåde, der fungerer for både voksne og ikke-voksne. Vi ville bestemt booke ham igen, og vi vil også varmt anbefale ham til andre.

Slette-fiskeri bliver bedre og bedre i oktober, mens Wahoo og Sortfinnet tun bider godt offshore. Efterhånden som vandet køler ned, tager revfiskeriet også til, med masser af lækker havaborre og snapper.

Giant Mangrove snapper bite is Hot!!!

In Florida Bay and around the Florida keys you will find yourself surrounded by mangroves. Thats exactly where these guys love to hangout, hence the name. Find yourself a creek or channel that deep with good moving water. We have been using live pilchard with a 1/4 oz jig head, hooked up to 20lb flourocarbon leader to a uni knot to 20lb braid. This setup is light enough to toss anywhere and strong to pull those big snappers off the magroves. Rememver to time the tides right so you get moving water. Good luck and tight lines

Fishing in the backcountry of key largo in shallow water. We are sight fishibg these big groupers hanging around under mangroves. We are using live mullet and pitching it under the mangroves where they live. Be sure to keep your distance from the shoreline so you can bring then out away from structure once you hook up. For tackle we are using a 20lb light tackle rod and reel setup. For leader we are using 60lb line because of all the structure. These fishing put out a great fight. Get out there and get on the great goliath grouper bite.

Yellow tail have been on fire

Yellowtails are all over the reefs right now. The bite is hot in the middle of the tide. Use alot if chum with oats thrown in. A very easy way to get them to see the chum slick and come closer is to keep a bucket filled with oats and mix with water. This will way down the oats making it sink slowly with the current. You should wait anywhere between 20-60 minutes before actaully casting any lines behind your boat. That way you bring in the yellowtail close without any fear from predators. Use light tackle with maximum 20lb flurocarbon leader. At the end use a small hook like a 1/0 or smaller. Use any kind if silversides or small white bait and cast off the back and let it drift back in the chum. Your bail on the reel should be open and free flowing. Once you get a bite the line will begin to leave your bail fast. Let the line take for about 2-3 seconds then simply close the bail and set the hook on the fish. Repeat this process until the cooler is full. Tight Lines.

Key largo back country fishing

The back countryry has been absolutely on fire. Alot of bait such as mullet and pilchard have made there way on the flats. So you can catch alot of diferent species on the edge of the flat on a falling tide. Artificials work great, especially anything that would mimic the white bait thats already in the area. Come give key largo a try, lets go fishing.

Catching snook at night on some live bait off the flats. Rod bending and drag screaming snook. Also have been jumping and catching alot of tarpon in the mix . The fishing has been incredible lately. Let me know when you want to start your next fishing adventure.
