Captain Chris has been fishing Lake Erie for several decades going back to the 80's fishing with his Great Grandfather, Grandfather, and his Dad. He was a first mate for his Great Uncle for several summers. He has fished many walleye tournaments and has placed as high as 1st on Lake Erie. Captain Shipman became a licensed USCG Captain in 2015.

    Great trip

    My son and nephews had a great time on their first charter. Capt Chris knew where to find the walleye and they caught their maximum amount. They can’t wait to fry them up! Highly recommend!

    Captain Chris was great! This was my second time using his charter. He got us out much earlier than we were anticipating and we caught our limit in less than 2 hours. Highly recommend!

    Fishing with Chris

    Chris is definitely an experienced Angler. He is organized and his boat is equipped with everything needed for Walleye fishing. The weather and wind factor made me feel a bit unsure of getting in this fishing guide experience. But, Chris made it happen! He found the perfect window of opportunity and it was a successful evening. Three hours of non-stop reeling in of fish. He also makes you feel confidnet even if you have little fishing experience. Largest Walleye caught was 27". I fried up my first Walleye filet, southern style, with a fresh cabbage salad and jalapeño-cheddar cornbread.

    Sunday Afternoon Trip

    The 4 of us had a great time with Captain Chris! He took us out to where the Walleye were and we were just 4 shy of catching our limit. Chris stayed busy the whole time keeping the rods baited, and in the water. He did an excellent job! I would not hesitate to book him again for another trip. Thanks again Captain Chris! It was a pleasure meeting and fishing with you.

    Fun Time, Lots of Fish

    We went out Saturday afternoon. We could 20-something fish in total. We all had a really good time, would def book again!

    We had a great experience! We had originally planned for an evening trip, but the wind was forecasted to be rougher in the evening so Captain Chris made the wise choice of moving the trip to an earlier time. The boat was clean and organized with all the right stuff! Captain Chris helped us catch 18 Walleye, cleaned them and even agreed to mail us our jackets we forgot on the boat!
