    We lucked out with some great weather and captain Jesse took full advantage of it for us. We had wanted to catch some good offshore fish for eating but didn’t realize it’s a bit early in the season to do so - regardless the stars aligned and even though he could have just as easily kept us closer inshore and still caught some fish, he really went above and beyond to give us an amazing experience. We caught every fish we had wanted, and enjoyed every minute of it. Captain Jesse is extremely hard working and knowledgeable; he knows exactly where the fish are and how to get you there. He handles his boat expertly, and I could tell he was constantly monitoring the water and adjusting to keep us comfortable. He never once made us feel like we were inexperienced (we very much are), always offering a hand but also standing back at all the right times to let you bring in a fish and have a great time. It’s clear he genuinely enjoys what he does and wants you to feel that enjoyment too when you’re out on the water with him. As if the fishing experience weren’t enough, he also filleted our catch for us and even recommended a place for us to get our king fish smoked and how to store our tuna to keep it its freshest. We can’t wait to book with him again ☺️

    was one of the best trips I’ve ever had. The captain was very knowledgeable area and was very patient with me even when I missed a lot of fish. He’s a good guy and I would highly recommend him if you want to catch fish. This is your guide.

    Wanted to go salt water fishing for a long time but have never been able to for one reason or another. This year I was able to book with Jesse and Tighten Up on fairly short notice. I wasn't sure what to expect since I have never used a fishing guide before but my expectations were surpassed! Jesse definitely knows where the fish are, and when they are there. Every spot we went to resulted in multiple fish being caught. Not only that but, my daughter and I don't have a ton of fishing experience, so we were really relying on Jesse to show us how to fish for each type of fish. He came through and we both felt super comfortable on his boat the entire time. I highly recommend using Jesse and Tighten Up. We had a great day and caught a ton of fish. Can't think of a better way to end 2020!

Offshore was HOT

If you chum, they will come! Offshore was pretty insane with cobia and mahi the past two trips. Having the right bait right now is huge, we almost missed the big bull because he was just too full! He was just passing by checking us out. Thankfully a pilchard twitched at the right time convinced that mahi to eat one last time! Cobia were pretty fired up, be ready for the sharks to come in. Heavy tackle needed! Inshore fishing has still been fun for all ages! The water took a hit of cold weather for two weeks straight, but the snook seem to be hungry! Sheepshead, pompano, and trout have been in really good numbers as well. As always, take a kid fishing and get the next generation Tightened Up!

Fun fishing

This Monday -Wednesday will have some good weather for offshore. Expect everything from mahi, cobia, blackfin tuna, sails, and even a possible chance at a wahoo. Inshore is still getting action with snook. The big bites have been sheepshead, trout, jacks, and pompano showing up in good numbers! Book your next trip with Tighten Up Fishing

Inshore to offshore

The bite has been pretty awesome recently, morning bites to late night. Main species have been tarpon, snook, and redfish. There has been a lot of jacks in the mix, and they have been on the larger side for sure. My buddy and I even got out 30+ miles and got tight a few times on swordfish. The weather is going to be getting windy so that’s probably the last trip offshore I’ll be doing for at least a week or two. Once that weather changes, I’m expecting a great number of mahi and cobia to be right out front. Until then, let’s get tight on some of the best inshore fishing you can imagine. Stuart snooks and sails

These are my last couple days out with some awesome clients getting the job done and having a blast on constant action. Most of my trips have been inshore this week. With that being said, there has been some BIG snook around in big numbers. Tarpon are still around and biting better at night. Bycatches: Spinner sharks are pretty thick and fun to site fish. There have even been a big number of cubera snappers being caught on slack tide inshore. Offshore still has good numbers of sails and snapper being caught. Mahi are still random catches, a lot of peanuts, but no solid fish “yet”.

Still plenty of tightLines

Offshore is still producing some good fish. Shallower waters seemed to do better for Kings, small mahi, cobia, and sails. The bigger mahi are pretty deep, heading north from the keys. Inshore still can guarantee some good snook bites, water is getting very warm meaning the best bite is EARLY MORNING or Evening. Mid day and you might get a lucky snook. Tarpon will be gone in another week so hurry up and get out there. Give me a call for your next adventure. Tighten Up fishing

The bite is pretty great right now! This includes inshore and offshore! Inshore has been pretty easy for some big snook and jacks. Offshore has been red hot for bottom fishing, mahi, sails, cobia, and King’s. These pictures are just some of my trips the past two weeks. Give me a shout for your next adventure Tighten Up Fishing
