Captain Stoney has always hunted and fished from a young age. All through his school years, he used to ride bulls and horses. He had a bunch of jobs from breaking horses, remolding houses, and construction to welding and fitting in fab shops. The captain fished every chance he got to around work. He started winning money in tournaments regularly and decided on being a tournament angler full time, which helped him become a more developed angler. Guiding was always an option in his mind to help bring extra money in, plus he already liked helping other anglers and passing on the knowledge he'd acquired. If he could work and be successful while living the dream... why not? Hopefully, in the years to come, he'll still be fortunate enough to keep doing it.

Would definitely recommend Captain Stoney and Lake Fork to anyone looking for a great bass fishing experience!

Lake Fork water temps are getting warm. There is a shallow water bite in the AM. Topwater frogs and worms have been the best around grass and structure. Offshore bite is a scattered out around 15’-25’. Worms, cranks and carolina rigs are the baits of choice. For a more in-depth on fishing. The heat here in august has been very tough. The bite on Fork is starting to heat up. Extended point & road beds 12ft-17ft has been the magic depth. Carolina rig flukes, texas rig 10” worms, drop shots have been the baits of choice. There are fish up shallow on brush close to deeper water try keep boat in no less than 7ft drop shot or small swimbaits has been the bait of choice. Fork is fishing tough with very warm temps. There are fish in shallow and deep areas. Id start morning of ealry fishing docks with light 8” ribbon tail worms with 4/0 vmc hook 3/16 - 1/4 oz tungsten & weightless senko with 4/0 vmc hook. The. I move out deep to ledges, humps, extended points & out to the dam. 10” ribbon tail worms & 8” straight tail worms on shakey heads & tx rigs. Fork is fishing hood right now offshore. Big worms have been the best ticket. Great time of the year to chase better quality fish. Water temps are in the low 80’s. Water color is where it needs to be. Book your next fishing adventure today

Fish are moved offshore for the most part. Water is looking good and bass are feeding on shad. There is a shallow bite for the first hour of the morning. But mist fish ae being caught 10’-27’. Everyday is different. It could be moving baits or baits on the bottom

There are fish shallow and deeparound rocks, brush, docks, timber, creek swings. Drop shot is the number one bait for catching fish. Bigger fish are coming from a compact jig around creek channels.
