Captain Vinnie operates the YB Normal out of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and has worked aboard other boats in the area all his life. He loves being out on the water and getting groups on awesome fish. His favorite fish to catch is Black Grouper, but a huge part of what makes fishing so fun for him is never knowing what is going to bite next. This is what makes bottom fishing so fun for him - you can never tell what will take your bait!

    Fantastisk for familier

    4 Timers Tur – Privat - 1:00 PM • 2 voksne

    4 Timers Tur – Privat • 4 voksne

    Fantastisk fisketur

    4 Timers Tur – Privat • 3 voksne

Awesome Fall Deep Sea Fishing In Fort La

Oct 11, 2026 • Dania Beach
Hello there, Capt. Vinnie here and back with another great deep sea fishing report. This week we had some very nice weather earlier in the week and as we approached the weekend the winds and seas picked up, fishing this week started out great catching a few sailfish just on the edge of the reef. There has been a few days where the sailfish have shown in some numbers which is great news for the winter to come. We are still catching all sailfish trolling right now, our live bait season is just around the corner though. So stay tunned for that in future reports. On the reef other then sailfish there has been a very good bite of kingfish and some nice ones at that, the most important thing right now is to be using mullet strips while trolling and the reason why I say this is because right now we are having the mullet run and there are big schools of these bait fish coming down our beaches as well as offshore bait balls and a lot of the predator fish are capitalizing on these baits, so it only makes sense to use exactly what there eating, match the hatch is what we call it. The kingfish have been biting best over the shallow shipwrecks and bottom structure around 100-130 feet of water and the average size has been 10-12lbs with a few bigger ones mixed in. One species that has been hot as well this week and specially on the days that the wind has been up is mahi mahi. The fall season in my opinion is the best time for mahi fishing in the Fort Lauderdale area and the size of them is a lot bigger then our summer season. On windy days the mahi have been in as shallow as 50 feet chasing live ballyhoo, the key is to look for birds diving and seeing the ballyhoo shower on top of the water while there getting chased. There has also been a few mahi offshore when the outgoing tide meets the gulfstream waters causing a tide line or current edge, trolling down these current edges is going to produce great results specially early in the mornings. Average size of the mahi right now has been 10lbs. Last but not least this week we did see some blackfin tuna action in depths around 300 feet. Smaller baits fished below the surface like spoons have been a good choice to get bites but your going to sacrifice quality for quantity fishing smaller baits, but if your looking for bigger tuna its better to fish bigger baits at faster speeds, which also could open up an opportunity for wahoo as well. The tuna bite has been best early in the morning from sunrise to around 830am. This week please take a second to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters in Fort Lauderdale, and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram at Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. Coming up for this week and next we have plenty of availability for deep sea fishing charters, the pictures of our recent catches speak for themselves. Fishing is great right now and should remain that way for quite some time. If your thinking about coming down to Fort Lauderdale for a weekend get a way or even vacation and thinking about fishing, now is the time! Great Start To Fall Deep Sea Fishing

Sep 30, 2026 • Dania Beach
Hey there, Capt. Vinnie here back with a great Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing report. We had a rainy week this week and a light cold front to cool things off, but there was a few days that the weather was absolutely fantastic, and i would say the fishing was just about the same. For the report this week we finally got to see the run of fall fishing we love. Mahi mahi is always a hot topic and fall is one of the best times to catch them, a lot of people think summer is the best and it can be but the fish tend to be smaller specially in our area and not much is consistent like as to where you can find them. The fall mahi season is when we see majority of our bigger mahi and plenty of numbers. Due to all the rain we have been having it has given our inshore waters a tanic look or tea color, and when we have an outgoing tide all that inshore water moves out to sea forming a tide line where the blue water meets the green water and that has been where the mahi fishing has been excellent. This tideline has been easy to find by the different color in the water as well as weed lines going north to south and floating debris. This is where the gulfstream water meets the outgoing tide. Trolling on the blue side has been straight money for mahi mahi and multiple hook ups have been the norm. Its very important to have rods to cast when you get multiple hook ups because majority of the fish are in a school and you want to take advantage of those opportunities. Average size on the mahi have been anywhere from 8-12lbs. We did find this edge on a half day trip but i recommend a 3/4 day trip or even all day trip right now if mahi is what your after. We have a photo this week of a great all day trip we had catching 40 mahi mahi! Exactly on that edge I was talking about. Other then mahi right now there has been some wahoo due to the full moon and the crazy king tides we have been having. The tidal edge I mentioned earlier is also a great place to try for wahoo and never hurts to fish a bait below the surface on a planner just in case! Inshore we are starting to see a fall flurry of king mackeral and it should keep improving as we get further into the month of October, last but not least there has been a small trickle of sailfish which I personally think maybe a hint for a great winter season, right now we are still mostly trolling for all species but in another few months all that gear will be put away and transition into our live bait gear, seeing a nice little flurry should continue as we reach our winter months. This week please take a minute to check out some of our great photos of some recent catches that were caught on our deep sea fishing charters and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram at Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. Coming up, I think that the mahi fishing will continue to stay very good until November so there is plenty of time to get out there and catch them, also i think as the water cools we will see more blackfin tuna and a few more wahoo so be on the look out for that in future reports. As for availability there is plenty for the month of October and fall fishing is one of my favorite times and is when i tell a lot of our customers to come back and fish with us again! So if your thinking of coming down to do some deep sea fishing now is the time, the pictures speak for themselves all you have to do is look up is YB Normal servicing Fort Lauderdale, Dania beach and Hollywood beach for deep sea fishing charters. more later.... Rainy Week Of Deep Sea Fishing

Sep 17, 2026 • Dania Beach
Hello there, Capt. Vinnie here back with another Fort Lauderdale sport fishing report. This week has been a little slow for us here in the deep sea fishing department, it's offseason right now and these hefty fuel prices are not helping for business either, but we were able to get out on a few trips this week and thats all thanks to our great customers that come to fish with us which we are very grateful and thankful for. Fishing this week has been some what tough, i hate to say it but thats what it is, we seem to be having what's called a cold water upwelling at the moment and the reason I can confirm that is because we have been having northern currents on the surface and southern currents on the bottom bringing that colder water from up north, also we have been experiencing a healthy amount of rain and that has made the inshore waters very green. In terms of fishing the trolling bite has been decent to say the best, blackfin tuna and bonito aka false albacores have been super prevalent early in the mornings in depths around 200 feet, majority of the action has been on the surface with smaller lures trying to imitate flying fish, the earlier the better right now if you can get out before the sun comes up even better, once the sun seems to get up the bite fades quickly. There has been some pretty nice sized tunas around as big as 15lbs but the false albacores have been on the smaller side. Bottom fishing this week has been the real winner with solid catches of larger vermillion and yellow eye snappers. We had some very good luck fishing some hard bottom in 270 feet with some quality fish to prove it, the month of September is one of the last months that the snappers spawn out of Fort Lauderdale and from fishing out here for so many years I knew exactly where to look. Last but not least way offshore the mahi mahi fishing has been great but an all day trip is absolutely necessary because of the distance they been offshore. The mahi have been on weed lines and birds, the most important thing is to be ready incase a school comes up when you hook up, having extra rods rigged for that and live bait is going to help maximize opportunities if you get that school of fish behind the boat, September and October are great months for mahi fishing in Fort Lauderdale so keep that in mind when planning your next trip. This week please be sure to check out some great photos of some recent catches that where caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters in Fort Lauderdale and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram at Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. This week coming up we are going to be down for some much needed maintenance, but will return full throttle the week prior with plenty availability for your next deep sea fishing charter. If your heading down to south Florida and looking to do some fishing check out YB Normal for all your deep sea fishing needs servicing Fort Lauderdale, Dania beach, and Hollywood beach. more later..... Labor Day Deep Sea Fishing

Sep 8, 2026 • Dania Beach
Hello there, Capt. Vinnie here with another Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing report. This week has been a little bit of a tricky one, afternoon showers have been scaring a lot of people off from wanting to go deep sea fishing right now but the truth is, getting an early start like 7am can keep you in the fish and home in time to get you out of the weather. Now September is a month that is notorious for slow business here but it tends to have the best fishing of the whole year, which in terms makes that better for you the consumer. For the fishing report this week there has been a great bite inshore on kingfish. Kingfish is a very popular fish with a good amount of our customers. Its very good to make smoked for fish dip as well as blackened or fried. These fish have been very prevalent early in the mornings as shallow as 100 feet and have been biting best on our baits fished under the surface. Next species that has been good is blackfin tuna on early mornings, depths around 200-300 feet is where we have been fishing. The blackfin tunas like lures fished a little faster and a little further behind the boat, the most important thing is to not slow down when you get a bite, tunas are a schooling fish and keeping your same speed at the time of a hook up can result in multiple hook ups. Blackfins have been anywhere from 5-15lbs. We are just coming off of a full moon and that means wahoo, there has been a few nice wahoo as a "by- catch" while fishing for species like tuna. The outgoing tide in the early morning is going to give you the best chance at getting that trophy wahoo. Same depths as the tuna is where your going to want to be focusing most of your time, there has been a few bigger ones in the 30lb range but majority have been 18-25lbs. Another species that has been around and is always a pleasure is sailfish. These guys always bring joy to any anglers face with there fast runs and acrobatic jumps, primarily our sailfish season is winter to spring but we are seeing a nice little fall run right now, trolling has been the best option for all types of gamefish being there has been very light winds and a steady current. It is important to pay attention to surface baits with sailfish being around because you want to see the bite before they actually eat it. A lot of times sailfish will whack a bait with there bill and if there is no reaction they will loose interest quick, so its very important for the deckhand to notice that and reel the bait away to get that predator instinct. This week take a minute to check out some of the great photos this week of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram at Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. For the rest of the month of September we have a good amount of availability for deep sea fishing charters and now is one of the best times of the year for that, so if your thinking about heading down to south Florida check out YB Normal servicing Fort Lauderdale, Dania beach, and Hollywood beach. Late August Deep Sea Fishing In Fort Lau

Aug 26, 2026 • Dania Beach
Hey there Capt. Vinnie here, back again with another great Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing report. For this week the weather has been excellent besides the heat, we have had some really nice flat calm seas and there has been some fish biting as well. The seaweed this week has seem to slowed down and given us somewhat of a break which intern lets us fish the way we know how to, on the inshore side of things the bonitos or little tunny have been in full force early in the mornings while trolling most depths inside of 150 feet have had great numbers of these fish, fishing with planners to take baits below the surface is going to keep your bait in the strike zone the longest. The best lure choice this week has been a 2.5inch blue spoon, the smaller profile makes it appeal to a lot of different gamefish. Also this week we did get some kingfish on this very same lure, just goes to show you whatever is around is what is going to bite that day. Kingfish have been very sporadic but we tend to see a good run of them in the fall when the mullet come down our coast. Bottom fishing this week has been pretty good when the current has been light but majority of the bigger snappers have been deep, as deep as 400 feet. If you can get those right conditions to be able to fish those depths the fish have been there, Larger vermillion snappers have been the primary catch but we did get super lucky and catch a very respectable american red snapper which is rare for our area but not so rare if you were fishing in the gulf side, you really never know what you might catch out there. For an offshore report this week the hot topic has been mahi, we had a nice push of them and they have been offshore on larger weed patches as well as birds too. The best advice I could give is to be ready with live bait and spinning rods incase you hook up and there is a school of mahi with the ones you have on, you want to maximize any opportunity you might get because it could be the only one all day, other then mahi offshore there has been a fair amount of skipjack and blackfin tuna on birds chasing bait, the key is to look for the birds and keep your lures far behind the boat, the noise of the boat will make the tuna go deep so if you have your baits way behind the boat by the time you pass them they will be on there way up and your baits will be the only thing around. Tuna feed in schools so its important when you hook up with one to not slow the boat down which can result in multiple hook ups. This week please take a minute to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram at Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. For the next coming weeks we have a good amount of availability for the rest of the month of August as well as September, these months are notorious for having some of the best catches throughout the whole year you definitely don't want to miss it, so if your thinking about heading down to south Florida and looking to do some deep sea fishing look up YB Normal servicing Fort Lauderdale, Dania beach, and Hollywood beach for deep sea fishing charters. more later... Back To School

Aug 14, 2026 • Dania Beach
Hello there Capt. Vinnie back with another deep sea fishing report for the Fort Lauderdale area. For the report this week i can say honestly fishing has been a little tough specially trolling, the seaweed has still been an issue and we have been experiencing heavy tides as of late. On the days that conditions have lined up trolling wise we have been catching a good amount of false albacore, as well as some king mackeral. All this action has been taking place in depths around 100 feet and shallower. Fishing a spoon on our deep lines has been producing the best action and getting the most bites. Surface baits that are meant to look like a small squid or flying fish have been getting some action as well. With all this tide there was a small flurry of summer time sailfish, we weren't lucky enough to get one this week but it is nice to see a few caught. When there is heavy currents one thing that is very productive is anchoring up and fishing snapper. We had some very good action on yellowtail and mutton snapper this week fishing as shallow as 30 feet. When you have heavy current in the deep there usually is light current in shallow and that is the perfect recipe for chumming up snappers and free lining small chunks of bait to replicate pieces of free chum. When your anchored up for a significant amount of time your building a spot, so you never know what will show up specially with current and chum, we have been anchored before in depths around 50 feet and had sailfish swim up as well as mahi mahi. There was only a few days this week that the current lightened up enough for us to fish the deep for vermillion and yelloweye snappers and we had some great success. Some of the yelloweye snappers were as big as 6lbs, in my personal opinion these fish are one of the best if not the best snapper to eat that we catch here in Fort Lauderdale. For an offshore report this week mahi have been slow in the beginning of the week but there was a really nice push of them towards the end of the week, right about this time is when we start to see some consistency in that fishery all the way till late fall, i have high hopes for the next few weeks as we have a few mahi trips coming up. Last but not least please be sure to check out some of the great photos we have this week of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing trips in Fort Lauderdale and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram at Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. With the kids pretty much all being back to school that opens up a good amount of available dates for deep sea fishing charters, and just because we aren't as busy as we would like to be that does't mean fishing is bad or slow. The month of August, September and October are notorious months for very good fishing offshore and inshore, so if your thinking about heading down to south Florida and looking to do some deep sea fishing check out YB Normal servicing Fort Lauderdale/ Dania beach/ and Hollywood beach for all your deep sea fishing needs....
