Hello, my name is Capt. Shane and I own Gripping Lips Guide Service. We mostly fish the waters south of the New Orleans area. This includes Myrtle Grove, Lafitte, the Four Bayou area, and Grand Isle. We specialize in inshore fishing for giant Redfish and Speckled Trout. Shallow-water sight fishing is our specialty, and we excel in that type of fishing. The Spyder Vapor drafts in 7 inches of water. If fly fishing is your thing, this is the charter for you.

6 Timers Tur–Louisiana Gumbo (MAKS. 3) • 2 voksneGot tired of getting skunked chasing stripers in the New Jersey surf so flew down to New Orleans for the long weekend last minute and booked a trip with Shane. It was my first time in New Orleans and my goal was to catch a big ‘ole bull red. With his knowledge of the water and local fishery, Shane was more than up to the task. Left the dock at 6:30 on a pristine morning and had a tight line before 7:00… 38” Bull Red on the first cast! Not bad for my first redfish. We fished a variety of spots throughout the day and pulled in over three dozen speckled and white trout (many of which were keepers, but tossed back to fight another day) and three bull reds. Can’t thank Shane enough for a great day and outing! I definitely will be back to try and and get a bull on the fly. Til’ then I’ll be following along his fishing journeys and living vicariously through his YouTube channel.

6 Timers Tur–Louisiana Gumbo (MAKS. 3) • 2 voksneMy adult daughter and I had the best Father/Daughter Fishing weekend with Capt Shane York (GrippingLipsFishing). Capt Shane was very polite, friendly, and most importantly, extremely knowledgeable in fishing the area out of Myrtle Grove Marina in Port Sulphur, and getting us on 12 huge bull reds, a boat load of trout, and a myriad of other species……while fighting windy weather!!! If we stopped catching fish for 5 minutes of so, he would move us to another spot where we would catch fish…that pattern continued during the whole two day trip, even when potential stormy weather keep everyone else off the water we went out and knocked them dead before racing back to the marina and avoiding the worst of the incoming weather. I’ve done inshore fishing with guides 40-50 times in the last 40 years and Capt Shane is one of the best, that I will definitely be going to to. Seriously, do yourself a favor and go fishing with Capt Shane York, Gripping Lips Fishing. I don’t normally write reviews like this, but Capt Shane’s efforts to make our trip the best, I felt like he deserved a truthful review that I’ll stand behind.

The Bull Reds are Running!

This is the time of year to book with us if you want to catch reds of a lifetime. The past couple of weeks has been awesome, with the giant bull reds spawning. We catch multiple reds on every trip lately between 20 and 40 pounds. All the big reds have been in about 3.5 to 4 feet of water. All have been caught on artificial. No shrimp. These fish are aggressive and you do not need shrimp to catch them.

Speckled Trout are on fire!

Now is the time to book us for hot speckled trout action. The fishing has heated up with the weather, here in Myrtle Grove. We are finding a lot of trout in the bays and bayous as they start to migrate back out towards the gulf. Our canlendar is starting to fill up. If you are coming to the New Orleans area and want to fish, book with us! We are loacted only about 30 minutes from downtown New Orleans.
