Houston Anglers Find Two Cabo Species
The catch was split directly down the middle.
Two dorado provided the classic summer Cabo experience, while two skipjack gave the four Houston-area anglers an entirely different fight.
That variety became the defining feature of the morning.
Dorado can race across the surface and change direction quickly. Their bright green, yellow and blue coloration also makes them one of Cabo's most recognizable offshore gamefish.
Skipjack are different. Their streamlined bodies are designed for speed, and they tend to use that power below the surface.

Dorado Highlight the Cabo Morning
August can provide excellent opportunities to encounter dorado as warm water surrounds southern Baja.
Finding them requires crews to interpret what is happening around the boat. Birds, bait concentrations, weed lines, floating objects and current changes can all provide clues.
Captain Jorge and the Blue Star crew converted their opportunities into two dorado for the group.
Four Anglers Share the Action
With Memorie, Daniel, Erin and Devin aboard, the 32' Luhrs carried a comfortable four-person fishing group.
That allowed everyone to stay close to the cockpit activity whenever a fish entered the spread.
Four lunches were also aboard, giving the group time to eat and relax during the six-hour trip.
By the end of the charter, the Houston-area anglers had experienced four fish representing two distinctly different offshore species.
It was an easy scorecard to remember: two dorado, two skipjack and four anglers sharing a Cabo fishing morning aboard the Blue Star.
