Cabo Fishing Charter Strategy Aboard Blue Sea
Warm Pacific water provided classic August conditions for searching for Cabo marlin. Captain Alex and the crew worked offshore water while watching for bait concentrations, birds, current edges, changes in water color and surface activity.
The charter included the Blue Sky Cabo dredge system. The crew incorporated the dredge into the trolling program to create additional underwater activity behind the 60' Bertram and strengthen the overall presentation.
Rather than simply covering miles, the crew remained focused on locating the signs that can lead to a billfish opportunity.
Marlin Fishing Cabo Report From the 60' Bertram
When the marlin opportunity developed, the operation aboard Blue Sea shifted quickly from searching to managing the fish.
Captain Alex handled the yacht while the cockpit crew controlled the spread and assisted the anglers during the fight. The marlin was successfully brought alongside Blue Sea before being released back into the Pacific.
The final billfish numbers were straightforward: one marlin caught and one marlin released for a 100% release rate.
For a six-hour charter, converting that opportunity was the defining fishing result of the day.
Cabo Charter Fishing Experience for a Larger Group
With eight guests associated with the charter, the 60' Bertram gave the Tulsa group substantial room while maintaining the equipment and cockpit organization needed for serious offshore fishing.
Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charter and Tours provided the experienced crew, fishing licenses, prepared tackle and offshore fishing program, while the added dredge gave Captain Alex another tool for attracting fish into the spread.
The August 26 trip showed why a Cabo fishing charter cannot always be measured by fish volume alone. Marlin fishing often depends on finding and converting a limited number of quality opportunities.
On this morning, Blue Sea converted its billfish opportunity and sent the marlin swimming away.
