Turresumé

We caught redfish and hooked two tarpon during an exciting day on the water. Mullet was the key, but each species showed a preference for a different presentation. Redfish: Live Mullet Live mullet was the bait of choice for the redfish we caught. On this trip, keeping the bait alive and lively was the productive approach. Tarpon: Large Pieces of Cut Mullet The tarpon were picking up large pieces of cut mullet, giving us two hookups and adding some serious excitement to the day. Captain’s Takeaway Having both live and cut mullet available gave us options. The redfish responded to live bait, while the tarpon picked up the larger cut pieces. That’s a useful reminder to adjust your presentation to what the fish are responding to that day.
