The leaves begin to turn, the cool north breeze provides relief from a long summer, and fish grow hungry for the minnows that have to find their way out of the creeks and marshes. Time to break out the fly rods. Two fly trips in Chincoteague Bay this week yielded solid results. Speckled trout and schooling striped bass eagerly ate well presented Clouser minnows. Elsewhere, keeper-sized flounder are still about for those willing to work the jigs until they find them. We have begun our forays to the north country seeking King Salmon and Steelhead. Our early trip got results on both fronts, and we look forward to our next outing the first week of November. If you would like to get together for a special half day walk-In trip in Erie PA. message me through this page for details. Bundle up, see you on the water, Aloha!
