A Dorado Brings Color to This Cabo Pacific Fishing Charter
Dorado are among the most recognizable fish caught around Cabo San Lucas. Their striking yellow, green, and blue coloration, combined with fast movements and energetic fights, makes them an exciting offshore target.
For Team Spruce Grove, catching one dorado provided a rewarding result during their morning on the Pacific.
The fish was kept, adding a desirable food fish to the day's catch.
Although dorado are more commonly associated with warmer seasonal conditions, their movements depend on ocean temperatures, currents, and available baitfish.
This March outing demonstrated that opportunities for different species can arise beyond their traditional peak fishing months.
Three Skipjack Add Variety to a Cabo Morning Fishing Charter
The Alberta group also caught three skipjack tuna during their five-hour trip.
Skipjack are fast-swimming members of the tuna family, recognized by the dark horizontal stripes along their lower bodies.
They frequently travel in schools and feed actively on smaller fish, making them interesting opponents for recreational anglers.
All three skipjack were released.
With one dorado kept and three skipjack released, the group's confirmed results totaled four fish representing two species.
Dredge Equipment Features in This Cabo Offshore Fishing Charter
The charter included dredge equipment, which is used in offshore fishing to imitate a concentrated school of baitfish.
This visual presentation can attract the attention of predatory species that hunt schooling fish.
Dredges are commonly associated with billfish fishing, although different offshore predators may investigate their movement.
The March 7 charter record confirms that a dredge was included, but does not identify which fish responded to it.
Captain Luis directed the outing aboard the Blue Sky, using the vessel and available fishing equipment to support the group's offshore experience.
Eight Alberta Anglers Enjoy a Cabo Private Fishing Charter
Traveling from the Spruce Grove and Edmonton area, Colin, Shane, Mark, Russel, Dirk, Kevin, Matthew, and Chad shared the 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky for their private morning adventure.
The vessel departed F Dock at IGY Marina at 6:00 AM and returned at 11:00 AM.
Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charters operates a fleet of private sportfishing vessels supported by experienced local captains and crews.
For this group, the combination of a dorado catch, three skipjack releases, and five hours together offshore made for a successful fishing experience.
The outing also highlighted Cabo's ability to produce different species during a single charter, even outside the primary season for certain gamefish.
