January

The weather is pleasant and so is the fishing. Blue and White Marlin are terrific on the northern or eastern sides of the island. Speedy Wahoo are also ready to be reeled in.

February

The wind is at its strongest, which brings the windsurfers out. Enjoy the mild weather and troll for Wahoo while the bite is still hot. Further offshore, hunt for Blue and White Marlin.

March

The start of spring brings on the fly fishing season! Head out to the flats in search of juvenile Tarpon and Bonefish. Fishing for Blue and White Marlin offshore is red hot.

April

It's low season, making it a great time to visit if you want to avoid the crowds. Wahoo and Red Snapper fishing is almost as fantastic as chasing White and Blue Marlin is. This is also the time to hook Tarpon on the fly.

May

As the temperatures heat up, the Tarpon become incredibly active and acrobatic. Now is the time to break some personal records!

June

It's hot out there and will be for the next few months. There's no better way to cool off than by heading out on the water! Target Tarpon inshore and Mahi Mahi and Tuna in bluewaters.

July

The hot July weather is great news for holidaymakers. Make the most of the bite by targeting Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and Kingfish offshore. If you want to take advantage of Tarpon season, head to the flats.

August

Make Kingfish and Mahi Mahi your main priority and you'll see the icebox fill up in no time! It's hot out there so try to get an early start.

Captain said bottom fishing was a little more dependable the week we were there. Caught 10-12 fish in less than 2 hours before I had to cut it short for the kids. When we docked I saw another crew that went deep sea fishing with about 8 fish laid out with a nice sized bonito and mahi so seems like both are productive

We booked the morning run and had a great experience. Crew says it doesn’t matter time of day to fish. We wore runners and shorts/swimsuits. Sunscreen. Bring a cooler to put any fish you wish to take home and they will supply ice. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t catch fish for a bit as the first few minutes is travelling to where most of the fish are. They supply water and Coke. Enjoy!!

Book a longer trip. 4hrs is not quite enough time for me, but we had plenty to clean in our short 4hr trip. We got lucky and the mahi found us while bottom fishing. So happy there is not a ton of sharks eating everything we caught.

Fishing is fishing. Sometimes you get a catch, sometimes you don't. The morning sun wasn't too bad but around 10am the sun starts to really hit you. The waves weren't too crazy but hit it just right and the boat will rock. We didn't catch anything today Aug 4th but I would go again if I had the time. Never know what you can get.

Milton responded quickly to my inquiry! They were at the boat early and ready to and left a few minutes early. Milton patrolled the island to put us on the fish. Kyle was hard working and always checking or changing bait to give us the best odds. We were able to reel in 2 Wahoos. Thank you for spending the day with us.

Crew worked their buts off for us, we charted with them last year, but unfortunately the sea was extremely rough that day and we got blanked. This year we caught some tuna, had several bites with the highlight hooking a blue marlin, or so we thought….typical the big fish got away story, is true. It was an amazing day with Captain Tom and Crew! Went out for an 8 hour trip to the rough side ! Theire was a lot of rock n roll on the top water and the current was fuck as hell! We caught just a small cuda but hey fishing is like gambling if soy know what I mean :) never than less we had a great time on high times and I would recommend captain Tom for every one who loves fishing and the simple life! Had a great time fishing on our 6 hour run. We caught two barracuda, a king mackerel and a 4’ wahoo. They do a 50/50 catch. The crew filleted ours right there at the dock and we were able to have it cooked at our resort (Tamarijn) for dinner that night. Would definitely go again. The crew was amazing and well prepared for the 6 of us that went.

We got bites but had to come in early for a person in our party. Captain Roberto and mate Gregory were very kind, they were ready for us and had all the gear we needed. The trip was lovely, we started getting bites, and I am sure we would have caught something if we didn’t come back early. I would definitely recommend the Dorothy.

We had a great day on the water. Caught a ton of black fin tuna, a skipjack and a couple bonito. Fought some wahoo but ultimately they got off. My son got nipped by the sea sickness bug but managed to rally at the end and landed our largest catch of the day. Bravo Roberto and crew! Definitely will book with them again.

The crew of the Tropic King certainly gave it their all, with the captain trying an assortment of nearshore areas and the mate working the deck, changing out the baits and lures in hopes of changing our luck, but the fish just weren't there, or weren't biting. There were a lot of boats out and I don't think anybody was having much luck. That's why they call it fishing...
