Ambergris Caye, San Pedro Fishing

Recently voted one of the world's most beautiful islands, Ambergris Caye doubles as probably the most prolific fly fishery anywhere south of Florida. With less pressure on the Bones, Permit and Tarpon (and Snook!) than in most other hotspots, a Fly Grand Slam is still very much withing reach for any angler crazy enough to go after one. Past the sandy flats, there's some amazing reef fishing to be done as well, with plenty of Jacks, Barracuda and a recognizable Snapper/Grouper variety. Finally, leave the marvel that is the Great Reef behind you, and you can expect your lines quickly peeled off by Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, and yes, even an occasional Blue Marlin!
