Separating the East Bay River’s access to the East Bay and the Santa Rosa Sound, Navarre already looks like a hot fishing destination. Add a short run to the nearshore reefs into the mix, and even the possibility of a deep sea adventure, and it’s easy to see why Navarre fishing charters are in such high demand.
Where better to start your journey than on your doorstep? Whether north-side in the East Bay, or south-side in the sound, you’ll come across many of the same fish. Get ready for serious action as you target “Bull” Redfish and “Gator” Trout, along with Flounder, Sheepshead, Jack Crevalle, Bluefish, and Tarpon when the season hits. Head a little further to the Pensacola Bay, and you could even get your hands on Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, and Sharks!
The action doesn’t stop there. In the nearshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico, you’ll come across plenty of productive reefs. Here, you’ll find Snappers, Gag Grouper, Cobia, Amberjack, Triggerfish, and Kingfish. Head even further out and a trip to the deep waters over 30 miles offshore will yield the prospect of Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and even Billfish.
The beauty of fishing here is that you can go out for as little or as long as you want. Choose from a couple of hours on the water to a full day inshore. Meanwhile, nearshore trips tend to last around 6–8 hours. Heading offshore will require a little longer, however, so spend anywhere from 10 hours to a few days out there to make the most of it all.
