February

Inshore fishing continues to be rewarding, with beautiful blue skies and mild temperatures sending away the winter blues. Head to the reefs for Amberjack and Snapper or stick closer to shore and hook into Trout and Redfish.

March

As the waters start to warm up, the baitfish move inshore. Fishing for Sheepshead inshore is not to be missed! Nearshore, watch out for migrating Manta Rays – there's almost always Cobia following closely behind.

April

With temperatures averaging between 60–79 degrees, April in New Smyrna beach is beautiful. Get out on the water and make the most of the Cobia, Kingfish, and Shark bite.

May

Escape Orlando's crowds and enjoy a relaxed day on the water in the lagoon or Atlantic ocean. Warmer currents offshore bring pelagics like Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Wahoo as close as 20 miles to shore.

Some real rod-benders can be caught out of New Smyrna Beach in July. Summertime is perfect for battling Sharks inshore, or Mahi Mahi offshore. In the reefs, get your hands on covetable Red Snapper!

August

If you're after Tarpon, this is one of your best shots! Head into the Lagoon for trophy "Silver Kings." If an offshore adventure is more your speed, head into the Gulf Stream for Mahi Mahi or into the reefs for Grouper.

September

The fall mullet run attracts migratory fish close to shore. If you're after a Bull Redfish, this is the time to go for it. Don't miss the annual FishStock festival for tournaments, panels, and bargains.

October

The weather begins to cool and the southward migration continues. Hook into Sailfish, Kingfish, and Wahoo offshore or make the most of the incredible Seatrout and Redfish bite in the Indian River.

November

As we transition into winter, the inshore lagoons become increasingly appealing. Trout, Redfish, and Snook can be caught through to February, while Wahoo, Sailfish, and Kingfish bite hard offshore.

December

Bottom fishing is great at this time of year, with Snapper and Grouper moving into the nearshore reefs. Inshore, there's plenty of Sheepshead, making for fun fishing and great eating over the holiday period.

February can be a bit slow, but still a great time. We had 3 keepers from the trip, two of which are sharks. If you're just in it to catch and release its well worth it, but if you are interested in catching lots to eat it may be best to wait for early spring or fall

Don’t get me wrong inshore fishing can get you some great fishing and if you only have a certain amount of time to be in the area go fish on!

We highly recommend the beach fishing with New Smyrna Beach Shark Hunters. Location was convenient and easy to get to. The crew was friendly and personable, and we felt like we had made good friends by the end of the night. While we didn't catch our target, it certainly wasn't for lack of trying. The crew worked hard from the start, right up to the last minutes. We had a great time, and will try again, hoping for less wind and current. Overall, a terrific experience!

My 12yo daughter wanted to go shark fishing, and this didn’t disappoint. We had good conversation, fun times looking for crabs, and a couple of opportunities to hook up. Listen to your Captain, as my daughter didn’t heed the instructions and lost her shark. I landed a nice one, and overall it was worth the time and money spent. I definitely recommend this trip and Captain.

We had a great time with Dustin, Tyler and Owen. My son was able to land a 6ft Black Tip shark named "Resurrection". Dustin is very knowledgeable about shark fishing and his main purpose is to create memories. My son will never forget this day catching Resurrection on Easter 2024!

Our original trip had to be modified due to high waves and Captain George provided ample information so we could change without penalty. Although we had been looking forward to the Gulf Stream, Captain Lance put us on some FANTASTIC spots inshore to catch pompanos, Spanish mackerel, mangrove snappers, jacks, ladyfish, grouper, and I even caught a blue crab with a lure! Professional, knowledgeable, super friendly and awesome company. We will most definitely be doing this again!
