Inshore charters are a perfect introduction to Manteo’s angling action. Stay “sound side” to reel in tasty treats like Red Drum, Flounder, and Trout. Half day trips offer plenty of action, and experienced anglers can find huge big Bull Reds on longer charters. Most fish are around spring through fall.

Head through Oregon Inlet, and bigger fish like Cobia and King Mackerel join the fun. These guys put up a real fight, and taste great to boot. Kingfishing is best in fall, while late spring is best for Cobia. Don’t worry, you can find big Bluefish whenever you visit!

January

February

Warm up with a thrilling fishing adventure as you mix up your fishing techniques. Head offshore to catch the bite of Bluefin Tuna, or stay inshore and go after Bluefish, Stripers, and Seabass.

March

March is the height of Bluefin Tuna season. Head out to the continental shelf and troll, jig, or pop your way to glory against one of the toughest and tastiest fish in the sea!

April

There’s no turning back. The high season is almost here, and you’ll get to warm up for it with a trip offshore to battle it out with Tuna and the first of the Wahoo, Cobia, and Mahi Mahi.

May

Mahi Mahi can be found in abundance offshore, while Bull Red Drum dominate the sounds. Bottom fish like Grouper and Tilefish are open for harvest, as are Cobia closer to shore. Better clear out the freezer!

June

Hot weather means hot fishing. You’ll want to speed off with the wind in your hair to take on monstrous White and Blue Marlin that are passing by in the Gulf Stream.

July

The heart of the summer is when you get the chance to tick some fish off your bucket list. Monster Marlin and stunning Sailfish will push you to your limit as you try to land the catch of your dreams.

August

With the Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament in the middle of the month, you know that August is a productive time to get on the water. Battle it out with monster pelagics and make some lifelong memories.

September

Huge "Smoker" Kingfish tear around the nearshore structure, while Bull Red Drum patrol the sounds. This is your last chance to battle Billfish before they head south, so save some time for offshore fishing.

October

Inshore season back in full swing. Explore the Roanoke and Croatan Sounds in search of Redfish, Trout, Striped Bass, and Bluefish. Otherwise, take on 30 lb "Smoker Kings" in the ocean.

November

It’s getting colder, but the fishing remains red hot. Explore the shallow waters near the shoreline of Manteo and go after some nationwide favorite game and table fish, from Redfish to Flounder.

December

You don’t want to look back on the year and regret not going fishing. There’s still plenty of riches to explore on the inshore waters, so come and fill the boat before it’s too late.

The best time to fish Manteo is April May and June. You might need to dodge high winds and hurricanes after July through November. Good news though, Manteo has inshore opportunities in the sound for anglers who love to bring home tasty catches. Speckled Trout and Red Drum are GREAT eating fish. We left at 4 a.m. and captain Ron, and 1st mate Trent put us on the fish the whole day. This was my retirement - bucket list trip for Tuna with the hope of catching a small fin but we landed and released a 110" 800 blue fin. We also caught alot of black and yellow fin tuna.

This was the best day of our trip, and we had an amazing week! But this topped it off perfectly. Drew was the perfect captain. He knows the waters and the area and exactly where to find the fish! It was choppy and chilly but he was willing to take us out for an adventure. The perfect catch and release, all the fun and adventure and great pics and still set them free. We’ll be back!

We had a blast. We caught 3 tuna . The fish were not bitting but captain and 1st mate tried and did everything they could. Boat is spacious and very clean. I would recommend this boat to anyone.

We had a party of four and had an absolute blast with Terry. We caught several fish, a few were keepers. He kept us laughing the entire time. The water was perfect. I would suggest bug spray as we were attacked by mosquitos as soon as we opened the vehicle door at the dock. We will definitely be returning to fish with Terry!

Captain Ryan was knowledgeable took time to explain the difference in the different set ups. My family and I had a great time. The fish weren't biting good but we landed a few. Enjoyed trolling in the boat. I would recommend the x periment fishing charter

Weather was great. Only problem was little to no current flow (not the captain's fault). Fishing was slow, but we still managed to catch some trout and redfish. Boat and equipment were 1st class. Capt and mate did a great job trying to locate fish. Would definitely recommend this charter. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Three of us went home with sore shoulders after reeling in so many tuna. It was an amazing trip. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the boat and the way they worked as a team to navigate the channel and Oregon Inlet in the darkness. I would highly recommend and I will definitely book again.
