And you won’t be the only one who’s fishing here – the area has lots of birds wading the shallows in search of a snack.

There’s way too many fish species in the area to be listed in one text, so we can only scratch the surface. The most desirable ones are Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Tarpon, Snapper, Bonefish, Snook, and Permit. Since the average depth of the bay is 3 feet, the tide must be right for a successful trip. This is why fishing with a local guide is crucial. Your guide can also recommend how long your trip should be in order to catch your favorite fish.

Even offshore species are common in the area, such as Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Marlin, Barracuda, or Tuna. Fishing guides can help you catch these too, they’ll just go in a different direction than usual. You’ll still depart from the Florida Keys but go south instead of north.

Check wind reports and move your trip to the best weather if possible.We would not been able to fish the day we booked due to high winds and Dave agreed the next day seemed a better choice .He moved our charter to the next day and we we able to make it through 6 hours of rocking .Was one of my most productive days on the water.

Capt. Joey took me and two other buddies out for a 3/4 day charter. Fishing conditions were not the best but we were able to grind out a bunch of fish.The Capt. and boat would be a great fishing experience for all ages and abilities. I plan on bringing my whole family next year and booking a trip with him.

Not to mislead anyone because the rest of the crew I’m guessing is amazing as our guide was, but Ben was very personable and patient with us as this was only our second charter. We ended up catching four different species of fish, got a good education, and enjoyed every minute of it.. well worth the money!! Dominic is da bomb! He knows his stuff. Literally, we were into tarpon before we were even rigged. They were everywhere! I probably casted to...I'm gonna say....100 fish! They came in groups of 1 to 15. I had 1 on but didn't hook it well then, ended up hooking one real good but broke off due to a tangled fly line. It was a huge one too. We saw it when the whole tarpon was flying out of the water just like in the videos!
