They will take you on a trip from El Jobo, one of the most secluded destinations in Costa Rica. This quiet village is well-known for its gorgeous beaches to visitors, but locals also know about the great fishing spots that this hidden gem holds.

Captain Gerald Ruiz has been fishing out of Tamarindo for 28 years. He takes charter success personally and works tirelessly to ensure that every trip is not only successful but also fun.

You will be picked up on the Tamarindo beach in front of the restaurant El Chiringuito. The boat you’ll be fishing from is a 27’ Liston boat that accommodates up to 4 guests. This offshore boat is powered by a 90 HP Yamaha engine and reaches the speed of 15 knots. She’s powered with navigational electronics, a cooler, and snorkeling equipment.

This crew will do its best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 5 to 8-hour trips, mainly fishing for Dolphin, Roosterfish, Marlin, Amberjack, Snapper, and Tuna, depending on the season and conditions on the day. On these trips, you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, big game fishing, jigging, popping, and spearfishing.
