La région des Finger Lakes de New York est réputée pour abriter des paysages époustouflants, ainsi que de nombreux sites historiques, musées et parcs nationaux. Grâce aux 11 lacs longs et étroits qui ont donné son nom à la région, c'est également un haut lieu de la pêche de premier ordre ! Le capitaine Robert 'Buck' Carter est un pêcheur local de toujours qui a hâte de vous emmener explorer certains des spots de pêche les plus productifs de Skaneateles à bord de Lucky Buck Fishing Charters.

Le Capt. Buck possède une vaste expérience en matière de sorties encadrées – à l'âge de 21 ans, il dirigeait sa propre flotte de bateaux de pêche dans les Florida Keys. Son amour pour la pêche en eau douce de première classe l'a conduit à retourner à New York, où il offre désormais à ses clients d'incroyables aventures de pêche sur deux des Finger Lakes les plus généreux – le lac Skaneateles et le lac Otisco. Il se spécialise dans la capture de poissons d'eau douce de renommée mondiale – Doré jaune, Perche et Truite, pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns !

Vous naviguerez sur les lacs à bord du Carolina Skiff de 25 pieds de votre capitaine, parfaitement conçu pour affronter ces eaux longues et étroites. Il peut accueillir jusqu'à 4 personnes, y compris les enfants âgés de 10 ans et plus – emmenez la famille ou quelques passionnés de pêche en eau douce ! Il est équipé d'un matériel de navigation de premier ordre, incluant GPS et sondeur, gilets de sauvetage pour tous les âges, une glacière pour conserver vos prises, et un moteur de traîne sans fil pour vous permettre de rejoindre les meilleurs spots sans effrayer vos poissons.

Le lac Skaneateles est connu pour sa propreté et pour offrir une pêche en eau douce exceptionnelle – préparez-vous à ramener de nombreux Dorés jaunes, Truites de lac, Maskinongés tigrés, Achigans et bien plus encore. Votre capitaine vous fera essayer diverses techniques, notamment la pêche de fond, la pêche à la traîne et la pêche aux appâts vivants. En ce qui concerne les Truites, il vous enseignera sa propre méthode de 'dropping' pour les ferrer. Vous pourrez également cibler ces espèces sur le lac Otisco.

Captain Buck was great; he called me up after booking to verify everything and figure out what we wanted to fish for.  Day of the trip everything went smooth, we showed up, hopped on the boat and were on the water within 5 minutes.  I had my 7 year old son along and Capt Buck hooked him right up with a rig that he was catching fish right off the start.  Rest of the trip was a blast watching my son and father catch fish; Capt Buck moved around to keep us on the fish.  Boat was a perfect setup; highly recommend!

October fishing trip

Lucky Buck gave my wife and I a very successful, entertaining, and enjoyable day of fall fishing! Buck was very flexible and generous with his time and expertise. Our trip was in late October and the early morning temperature was expected to be below or very near freezing, so we asked Buck if we could start later than the listed 6:00 AM to allow things to warm up a bit. Buck was very flexible about the start time and agreed to let us start at 9:00 AM.
When we arrived at the boat launch Buck was ready and waiting and had already been out scouting the lake. Buck had lots of nice rods and reels already rigged and ready to go, and also had plenty of live bait (minnows) and other baits/lures. He also had the boat rigged with pan-optics and used it effectively to find and put us on fish!

I had 3 goals for the trip: (1) catch a personal best (PB) smallmouth (4 lbs or more), (2) catch my first lake trout, and (3) make sure my wife caught some fish and had an enjoyable day. Buck made sure we achieved all three goals! He worked hard and kept moving to put us on fish, and gave us excellent, detailed instructions about how to present the baits. As a result, both my wife and I caught our PB smallmouth bass - see photo's - and we both caught our first lake trout!

We really enjoyed Buck's stories about the local area, his life, and his experiences of a lifetime of fishing in New York and Florida. Good laughs and never a dull moment. I highly recommend a charter with Lucky Buck for a successful and enjoyable fishing experience!

Captn Buck!

Captn Buck is a friendly, knowledgeable, highly experienced and determined fisherman that will do what it takes to ensure you have a great trip. We had a great day on Skaneateles fishing for small mouth bass and lake perch. The fish weren’t as enthusiastic about eating as we were about catching them!  We caught plenty to eat and had a great day. I will fish with this man again!

Buck worked hard to put us on fish, and his knowledge of the lake worked to our advantage.  We hit our limit on lake trout and took a few bass and perch as well.
All in all a great experience
