Gianna Helena Charters 

I had a window of weather and time off that I wanted to take advantage of. I called Capt Lou and I was thrilled to find out he had the day available. I've fished with Capt Lou for many years now, but this trip was special. As it was just me and the Captain. My fishing buddys were unable to join me, so I decided to book the trip anyway. We left the dock approx 7am and steamed out of the harbor to a chilly cloudy morning. By the time we reached The Point, the skies were clearing and the wind had settled. Birds were working overhead diving into the schools of baitfish and pointing us in the direction of our catch. I was so excited when Captain Lou decided to join me out on the deck. He even expressed "how awesome it was to finally bend a rod" after a long summer of teaching and watching others. We had a blast. I lost count of the # of striped bass we caught. All released I might add, however, I did keep one for the table. Thanks again Capt for a great day of fishing and laughter. Enjoy the pics! See ya next season. Tight Lines, Jeff

I highly recommend captain Lou. He knows the spots. Looking forward to going back out in a few weeks to hive the fish time to grow.

We had an excellent time out fishing with Captain Lou. He was really helpful and his boat was great. We were catching fish the whole time… caught enough fluke and porgies to make a delicious dinner! Will definitely book again for a future trip and would recommend highly.

Looked for a charter and came across Giana Helena and Capt Lou. We are very fortunate to have found him. Captain Lou and his first mate Jeff are not only fun and accommodating to your needs, they are extremely knowledgeable of the fish in their area. We had a fantastic trip with them and limited out on striped bass mainly because of Captain Lou. I 100% will book with him when we go back out to Montauk next time.

Capt Lou knows all the spots, sets you up for success and gives exceptional customer service. He is very attentive, anticipated every need and created a perfect experience. I planned this fishing trip for my dad's birthday and we had a blast. Caught and released over 25 fish, 4 species, and kept a few for a fish taco lunch. Would 100% recommend him and the Gianna Helena for anyone looking to have a guided fishing expedition out of Montauk!

The experience on Board the Gianna Helena Was second to none. I’ve been fishing for over 40 years and have been on many charters and found Capt Lou to be the best I’ve encountered. He was extremely accommodating, friendly and respectful to the whole party. The boat and fishing tackle was clean, comfortable and top notch. I understand the fact that we had an epic day catching fish was also due to the weather conditions, tides and overall great timing, Capt Lou knew exactly where to put us and maximized our fishing experience. I have faith that even in tougher conditions, the Capt will put his years of experience to use and put you on fish. I highly recommend this captain and boat if your planning on fishing in montauk.

Went out on a fishing trip with friends on Captain Lou's Gianna Helena charters. Not a minute went by without excitedly catching fish or waiting to hook one, or two at the same time, on either side of the boat. It's a day my friends and I will treasure for many years to come. Thank you Captain Lou!

Captain Lou has his work cut out for him this Labor Day weekend full day trip. Strong winds and currents kept our lines rolling along the sea floor even with 12 ounces of lead on em. Even then the Capt kept us on the fish. We moved once the bite slowed and the sonar didn’t look promising. What impress our family the most though wasn’t capt’s skills fishing and boating, but it was his thoughtfulness. Here’s a few takeaways that I noticed. First off, when we arrived at the boat, Captain Lou had several cushiony lounge chairs ready for us so we would be more comfy on the ride in and out. Very thoughtful. Secondly, the seas were rough on our way out but rather than gunning the engines and slamming through the current to get to the fishing grounds faster, Capt slowed the engines whenever a big swell headed our way so that my elderly in-laws had a more comfortable trip. This was a luxury other boats speeding by us didn’t seem to care or think of. And last but not least, my wife and MiL was completely tired out towards the end of our 8 hour trip. Whenever it was time to reel up and move, he ran right over and helped them reel up their lines and then recast them once we were back on the fish. 12 ounces of weight on an 8 hour trip is no joke. We signed up for a fishing trip and was on so many fish we got a free arms and back workout. I definitely recommend the Gianna Helena. Captain Lou keeps you on the fish.
