Captain Camilo Diaz will show you an authentic experience. A recreational and sustenance fisherman since childhood, he bought his first boat at age 13. He knows all there is about these waters and looks forward to sharing his knowledge with you.
Capt. Camilo has come a long way since his boyhood. Step aboard his 43' Hatteras convertible and live the life of luxury. Up to 10 guests are welcome aboard to enjoy comfortable confines in the air-conditioned cabin featuring a kitchen, bathroom, TV, and multimedia system. Head up to the flybridge to spot the productive fishing spots and use the outriggers to troll behind you. When you feel the bite, settle into the fighting chair and get your fish on.
You'll use live ballyhoo as bait with heavy tackle giving you the best chance of landing a monster fish. Head up to 40 miles offshore to the deepest spots of the Caribbean and get ready for an intense battle. Majestic Marlin will leap out of the water as they wriggle from your line, while stunning Sailfish will leave you lost for words. Try to catch a delicious Tuna or Mahi Mahi to take back to shore, or battle it out with Wahoo, Amberjacks, and even Sharks!
Full day trips will give you the best chance of testing your skills against a range of these fish, but there's still a good chance of landing a beauty on shorter trips. You'll also be treated to a complimentary traditional lunch on longer trips. Whatever you want out of your day can be arranged – let your captain know if you'd like to go snorkeling and you can rent some gear. Santa Marta, Colombie
Né et élevé à Santa Marta, il était tout naturel que le capitaine Camilo connaisse tout de la pêche. Suivant les traces de son père et de son grand-père, il pêchait par passion et comme moyen de nourrir sa famille. Il a acheté son premier bateau à l'âge de 13 ans, et ce n'est qu'à 34 ans qu'il a transformé sa passion en métier. Il aime toujours la liberté de prendre le large et dit qu'il n'y a pas de sensation comparable à celle de ramener un poisson monstre. Et il sait de quoi il parle : son record est un marlin de 500 lb !
