Si vous avez entendu parler de la pêche au Tarpon et que vous souhaitez savoir ce qui fait tout ce bruit, ne cherchez pas plus loin que Backwater Tarpon Fishing Charters. Dirigée par le Capitaine Clery, c'est votre référence locale lorsqu'il s'agit d'affronter le Roi d'Argent dans son propre territoire.
Vous pêcherez à bord d'un bateau de baie Ranger de 24 pieds propulsé par un moteur Suzuki de 300 CV. Ce bateau est parfait pour la pêche au Tarpon car le pont plat vous offre suffisamment de liberté pour vous déplacer sans effort autour du bateau tout en minimisant le risque de chute et/ou d'emmêlement de la ligne.
Ce vaste lagon est parfaitement adapté à la vie marine, offrant des sources infinies d'appâts toute l'année pour les poissons résidents. Cibler le Roi d'Argent sera votre priorité principale, mais il y a aussi d'autres poissons dans les parages. La population locale de Tarpon peut varier de 20 livres jusqu'à 150 livres.
Le Capitaine Clery vous fournira toutes les cannes, moulinets et accessoires de pêche nécessaires pour passer un bon moment sur l'eau. Tout ce que vous devez apporter, c'est une paire de lunettes de soleil polarisées, de la crème solaire et une attitude déterminée. Une fois que vous aurez dansé avec le Roi d'Argent, vous serez accroché pour la vie.

4hrs Night Tarpon Fishing Trip le April 14, 2026 • 2 adultes
This was my 3rd trip with backwater Tarpon. I booked two back to back trips last year in Aug 2025 but we didnt have much luck catching any Tarpons. I booked another trip (April 2026) becuase i wanted to redeem myself and check off Tarpon of my list. We barely had anytime to sit and relax. bites after bites, crazy fights!! “Mateo” our captain, great guide and a very experienced angler. He knew exactly where the Tarpons were feeding.. As we got to the feeding zone, it was game on. And the cherry on top? we landed a Monster Tarpon as we were wrapping up!! If you’re on fence about booking a trip with BWT? don’t think about it, just do it.

Captain Mateo was amazing. He knew all the tips to find tarpon. We saw them in all the spots we tried. We had a few bites but none of them stayed on the line (such is fishing!). We did catch 2 barracuda though, and we learned a lot about tarpon and fishing for them. Captain Mateo was great with my 13yo son and had great stories and tips for our visit too. The only thing that was tricky was finding their temporary dock, but they communicated well and were very helpful. Highly recommend.

Early LURES & Swimbaits Trip le August 4, 2025 • 4 adultes • 2 enfants
Our boys (14 & 10) wanted to doing a fishing trip on our family vacation to PR. We debated between deep sea and backwater tarpon. Ultimately, we chose backwater because of the calmer waters of the lagunas and (hopefully) a solid fight with a good size tarpon. We booked an early AM 5:45 start, so we could be among the first on the water. While things started off slowly, we eventually hooked 3 tarpon, landing 2 of them, along with a snook and a barracuda. All 4 of our kids got in on the action (ages 16 down to 10). We even had a chance to feed Pepe the Pelican off the back of the boat. Our guide, Miguel, clearly knew his stuff, finding us a variety of spots and methods to get some bites. He was engaging with the kids, sharing stories of fishing excursions across PR. He also had a lot of great recos for restaurants and activities to get into while we were in San Juan for the day. All in - a fantastic trip. Well worth the early morning departure and trek across to San Juan.

2 Hour Tarpon Charter

Captain Gabi was awesome. Tarpon fishing is different then our past charters because essentially your putting out 5 rods with bait and waiting for the magic to happen. If a tarpon catches you have a 45 minute fight ahead of you. But if you don't catch anything then it's a lot of sitting around and talking in a beautiful setting. My advice is ask if rods can be dedicated to tarpon fishing and a couple for catching smaller things like barracuda or snappers. That's what we ended up doing and it was best that way. If you are from out of town Pinones can seem intimidating but highly recommend eating at their food stalls and exploring the area.

Fishing Trip Fun

My lady and I came to San Juan on a cruise and had a great time fishing with Alex while we were there.
He was great at answering questions, helping with my ladies' bait and line, and most importantly, finding the fish.
He was great at handling the boat and putting you in a position to get strikes. We tried multiple spots and approaches to target the tarpon.
We enjoyed Alex's casual approach and fun. He was super friendly and great at communicating what he saw in the water, as well as what he felt the fish were doing in terms of eating and where they would be moving to.
