There's some great fishing to be enjoyed in North Carolina's inshore waters. You've got a great pair of hands in Captain Tommy, who has over 30 years of experience in charter fishing and a lifetime on the water in Hatteras. All groups, ages, and skill levels are welcome to join him aboard his charter.

He's got a 30' Custom Carolina cuddy cabin to take you out in. It was originally built in 1983, but he restored it recently in 2015. It's very well kitted out and includes an onboard toilet, a fishing chair, fishfinder, live bait well, and an ice box, making it comfortable and practical.

When you're out on these waters you can expect to catch the likes of Bluefish, Cobia, Kingfish, Redfish, and Spanish Mackerel. Spinning and trolling are the go-to techniques on this trip, making it suitable for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Live bait is used on this trip and it will be ready for you prior to your trip beginning.

There's catch cleaning stations at the marina for you to prepare anything that you catch and wish to take home. Your fishing license is included as part of the trip so there is no need to be concerned about that.

You are welcome to bring anything you want to eat, drink, or smoke on the boat. A small cooler can be taken too if you are taking a few supplies. Once you've booked you can look forward to a superb day of fishing in North Carolina and creating lifelong memories.

Biggest Catch of the Morning !!!!

Captain Tommy with Hatterascal Charters gave us an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. He was professional, knowledgeable, and made the entire trip fun and stress-free. You can tell he truly cares about his customers and knows these waters like the back of his hand. The boat was clean, well-kept, and everything was top notch. We caught plenty of fish and made memories that will last a lifetime. If you’re looking for a great charter with an experienced captain who works hard to make sure you have an amazing time, I highly recommend Captain Tommy and Hatterascal Charters. We were able to bring in a total of 63lbs of fish !!!Definitely a 5-star trip and we’ll be booking again!

This was my wife's and I's first time doing a private charter and captain Tommy was very knowledgeable about the waters he has fished in his entire life. He was very patient with my wife and I. He explained and had a answer for every question we had. It was alot of fun. He made sure we caught fish on this trip. There was some dead spots, but captain Tommy quickly reacted to the situation and got us back on it quick. We even seen dolphins out there. And captain Tommy made sure got to see them up close which was awesome. So this was a fishing trip and dolphin watch trip all in one. He even stayed out a extra hour than we had payed for to ensure we got the amount of fish we wanted. Would definitely book him again and will be coming back.

Captain Tom is a Gem. He is from a family of fisherman with a long lineage in the area. His family settled on Hatteras Island while the Indians were still there. This was my first time fishing, so I took my father with me on the trip.  I absolutely loved fishing.  Captain Tom is very personable, patient, and kind.  We caught 83 lbs of bluefish in 45 minutes.  Oh what a day!

We caught 23 lbs of fish, which were cleaned and filleted right at the marina, making it easy to bring home fresh catches. Everything about the trip was smooth, enjoyable, and well-organized. Highly recommend booking with Captain Tommy if you’re looking for the perfect fishing adventure!

Captain Tom said “I smell fish, get ready.” a minute later all four rods hit hard! He put us on the fish and kept us on them so much so that we had over 75 pounds of fish! We actually had to leave the spot because we didn’t have enough cooler space for anymore in our camper van!! Captain Tom knows these waters and he knows how to Catch the big ones. This was my dream adventure. We call it catching more than it was fishing!
