Salty Boat Charters organise des sorties de pêche au départ de Gros Islet et vous propose de découvrir ce que la pêcherie locale a à offrir.
Notre capitaine s'efforce d'adapter chaque sortie à vos besoins spécifiques, alors faites-lui savoir ce que vous recherchez ! Selon la sortie et les espèces, vous utiliserez des techniques comme la pêche au fond et la pêche au lancer. Vous profiterez de sorties de 4 heures, où vous rechercherez généralement des Barracuda, Little Tunny, poissons-gâchettes, vivaneaux rouges, grondins et vivaneaux, selon la météo et la saison.
Votre aventure commence à bord d'un bateau Dusky de 27 pieds pouvant accueillir un maximum de 4 pêcheurs. Le bateau est équipé de toilettes et d'une glacière. En ce qui concerne les cannes, moulinets et le matériel terminal, tout ce dont vous avez besoin est inclus dans le prix. Votre sortie comprendra tous les permis de pêche nécessaires pour la journée.
Vous pourrez garder toutes les espèces légales capturées pendant la sortie. Présent pour vous aider en cas de besoin, le matelot sera à disposition durant la sortie. Laisser un pourboire pour un travail bien fait est très apprécié.
Vous trouverez des collations et des boissons gratuites à bord pour votre confort, mais vous êtes toujours les bienvenus d'apporter vos propres boissons et collations si vous le souhaitez.
Il s'agit d'une sortie adaptée aux enfants, vous pouvez donc amener vos enfants pour une aventure de pêche amusante.

Fishing trip but for whom?
4 Hour Trip – Bottom Fishing le April 25, 2026 • 2 adultes
We were really looking forward to a mellow fishing trip close to shore. All sterted well amd went downhill from there. We asked for bottom fishing and thats what they provided. Problem started when the fishing was slow and we were only catching fish thay should have been returned and were not big enough to eat or keep. Thays when the captain Zyn started drift fishing and hand fishing with a lure. I was on one side of the boat and the wife on the other. Zyn had two lines out on my side. not bottom fishing,but a drift line and the hand trowling over my line. The bites were quick and small and I could not tell if i was getting a bite or it was his line jerking my pole. When I did get a fish on the line,mine and his two lines got tangled. When he did hook a good fish on the drift line, instead of handing the pile over to one of the paying guests, he fought it and brought it in on his own and then asked if I wanted to take a picture with it. No. The only 2 fish worth keeping were the ones caught by Zyn and were not caught bottom fishing. It seemed like the trip was more about the captain fishing and not being a guide. We have chartered fishing trip many time and had both good luck and slow fishing bit never one where the captian was more interested in fishing than guiding.

We want to clarify a few things while also acknowledging your concerns. Fishing conditions can vary significantly from day to day, especially with bottom fishing close to shore. Slower action and smaller fish are sometimes part of that reality, but we understand that communication during those moments is key and it sounds like that’s where we could have done better.
Regarding the change in technique to drift fishing, that’s often done in an effort to improve the catch when bottom fishing is slow. However, it should always be explained clearly and executed in a way that keeps guests fully involved and comfortable. Your point about line tangling and lack of coordination is taken seriously! That’s not the experience we want for anyone onboard.
As for the captain handling fish instead of passing the rod to guests, we agree!that’s not how we typically operate. Our goal is always to make sure our guests are part of the action, especially when a good fish is on the line.
We appreciate your honest feedback because it helps us improve. This has been shared with our team to ensure better communication, clearer expectations, and a more guest-focused experience moving forward.

Fun times doing some inshore fishing

Took my son for his birthday and it was a great trip. Captains Phil and Zin, were very friendly, knowledgeable and worked hard to help us land some fish. Boat was comfortable, they had beer, water and soda, snacks and took us out to their go-to spots. Good fun. However, make sure to account for traffic near and around Rodney Bay especially when the cruise ships are in town.
