Bienvenue chez Charlie Leslie Fly Fishing, un héritage qui s'étend sur trois générations de guides experts. Notre histoire est enracinée dans la passion et le dévouement de Charlie Leslie Sr., Marlon Leslie et Charles Leslie Jr., chacun apportant son style unique à l'art de la pêche à la mouche.

L'introduction de la famille à la pêche à la mouche en eau salée est venue de nul autre que Lefty Kreh. Aux premiers jours, avant que le Belize ne devienne une destination prisée pour la pêche à la mouche en eau salée, Lefty est arrivé lors d'un voyage de reconnaissance et a laissé une canne à mouche entre les mains de Charlie Leslie Sr.

'C'est à ce moment-là que Lefty a dit : c'est un cadeau pour vous. Mais vous feriez mieux d'apprendre à l'utiliser, car ce sera la prochaine grande tendance qui va décoller. Et plus vite vous vous y mettrez, mieux ce sera.'

Dans les années suivantes, Mel Krieger est venu et a donné quelques leçons de lancer à Charlie Leslie Sr., qu'il a ensuite pu transmettre aux guides de la nouvelle génération. Ce film raconte l'histoire de la façon dont de petits gestes des sommités de la pêche à la mouche d'il y a 50 ans ont influencé la trajectoire de la relation d'un pays avec ses ressources halieutiques et l'histoire d'une famille sur ces flats convoités.

Excellent Opportunity for Permit Flats Fishing

Full Day Trip – Fly Fishing le June 2, 2025 • 1 adulte

Charlie II, and his crew member Santi, worked very hard to put me on permit. Throughout the day Charlie was very helpful and patient to coach me through locating and casting to these fish, even after multiple misses on my part. I did not keep count of how many shots I had on these fish, but there were many. It was amazing to wade and stalk these fish in the most beautiful place I have ever been. I highly recommend Charlie Leslie Fly Fishing and would absolutely book another trip if given the chance.

My only advice, if you have not been permit fishing before, practice accurate casting a lot before you arrive so you can capitalize on Charlie’s expertise.

Great educational trip for a long time freshwater fly fisherman looking to have a permit tighten his line.

Full Day Trip – Fly Fishing le May 31, 2025 • 2 adultes

Went out with Charlie 3. Learned a lot about fishing for bones and mainly permit. Although I’ve caught many freshwater fish over the past 76 years, this was different ballgame. From dropping a size 20 dry fly to a wary native trout in the mountains to cautiously land, one to one of the spookiest fish I’ve ever pursued - Permit.
I didn’t fish out of the boat. We waded to try to get close enough. It’s not always about catching the fish. It’s the pursuit and the education of a new venture. It’s never too late to have someone teach an old dog new tricks. This is my first trip to the Caribbean and my first guide trip - and hopefully it won’t be the last.  I’ve 
taught many old and young the art of fishing 
and hunting, but I learned a lot on this trip.

Charlie made our half-day fishing trip unforgettable! He was incredibly patient, kept everything safe and relaxed, and made the whole experience genuinely fun. We both landed tarpon (huge highlight!) and couldn’t stop laughing—the giggles probably echoed across the sea. Highly recommend fishing with him!
