Il y a un poisson qui vous attend à Port Douglas et Port Douglas Sportfishing vous aidera à le capturer !
Ces eaux sont réputées pour leurs gros Gueule rouge, Bec-de-cane bleuté, Capitaine, Cobia, Carangue géante, Barramundi, Poisson jaune, Carangue dorée, Loche saumonée, Thazard rayé, Thon à longue queue, et bien plus encore – avec un peu de chance, ils feront hurler votre moulinet. Le jour de votre sortie, vous pratiquerez probablement la pêche à la traîne et la pêche de fond en utilisant du matériel léger. Le capitaine Gavin propose également la pêche en surface pour les grosses carangues géantes, renseignez-vous sur cette option pour l'ajouter à votre aventure.
Port Douglas Sportfishing accueille les enfants à bord, toute la famille peut donc venir se déconnecter pour la journée ! Les enfants doivent porter des gilets de sauvetage, alors vérifiez si la taille appropriée est disponible à bord. Des collations sont également une bonne idée pour que personne ne devienne grincheux le ventre vide !
Votre aventure commence à bord d'un Eagle Ray de 18 pieds à console centrale pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 5 passagers. Il est équipé de tous les éléments essentiels dont une machine de pêche ne peut se passer. Le capitaine Gavin fournira les cannes et moulinets, ainsi que les leurres. Les appâts vivants sont disponibles, mais assurez-vous de vous renseigner pour savoir si vous devrez les attraper vous-même.
Vous devrez acheter un permis de pêche local avant la sortie. Cette information est généralement disponible en ligne, ou vous pouvez demander au capitaine. Certaines espèces peuvent être protégées ou nécessiter une étiquette pour les conserver, alors assurez-vous de savoir à quoi vous attendre. Quelques articles à apporter incluent de la crème solaire (non en spray) et des lunettes de soleil. Les boissons sont incluses, gratuitement. L'alcool est autorisé avec modération, évitez simplement les spiritueux forts ainsi que les bouteilles en verre.

Perfect morning of fishing with a friendly and knowleable captain

We had an awesome fishing trip with Captain Gavin out at the inshore reef off Port Douglas. The conditions were perfect, and Gavin made the whole experience fun, easy, and productive. We caught a great range of reef fish throughout the morning, with plenty of action to keep everyone excited.
The highlight was bringing home two beautiful coral trout, which made for an absolutely delicious lunch! Gavin’s local knowledge and professionalism really made the day. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just out for some fun on the water, I’d highly recommend a trip with Captain Gavin — a top-notch fishing charter experience in Port Douglas!

Awesome and amazing and awesome

The title is a direct quote from my 15 year old daughter. Gavin was an amazing captain.
First is methodical approach to fishing is really cool. He explained how to get right bait, the right tide, and the spot. He has a very “be the fish” approach.
One of my 15 year old twins is very into both fishing and engineering. While we waited for our fish to bite, Gavin explained how all of the equipment worked. It was incredible. My other 15 year old daughter I relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful day in the estuary. Gavin also explained how the estuary system worked and about the wildlife there as well as in the reef. Gavin is definitely a “girl dad”.
It was the low season and the water was cooler so we only caught one fish but it was a half meter long so it made for a plentiful and delicious dinner.
Everyone will enjoy fishing with Gavin but if you have daughters this is your captain!

fantastic day out
Full Day Trip – Outer Reef le May 19, 2026 • 2 adultes
Could not recommend Gavin highly enough! Went above and beyond to make our day fantastic and catch plenty of big fish! Even when we started getting some stolen by sharks he knew where to go to start getting them in the boat again. Will definitely be back to go out with Gavin again.

Cracking end to our week in Port!!

You’re learning off and fishing with one of FNQ’s gurus if you head out with Gav. Bloke was the best!
My Mrs had never held a rod let along cast a lure into the mangroves. right in the bite window he called she landed a huge jack, probably 5mtrs from where we saw a croc slide into the water! we also cleaned up out on the reef popping for G’s and deep dropping on a few of his wonky hole marks for big Nnanygai
my second time doing this charter and ill be back for years to come!!! cheers Gav great to meet ya!

Fantastic afternoon

Thanks to Gavin for a great afternoon. Around 30 fish caught including coral trout and 2 small sharks. Kept putting us on the fish. Great knowledge and a genuinely nice skipper to get along with. Thanks from The Tudor family. Hope to be back from the UK one day ok
