An Honest Review After Almost 100 6 hour trips in 10+ years
River fishing le August 23, 2023
My family and I have been fishing with captain mike of fat fish guide service for alil over 10 years now and close to a 100 charters. Ive fished with him in every one of the 4 season at this point and just about every month in a year, not one trip was unenjoyable or unsuccessful! Mike does a great job of finding fish and helps put you in the best possible position to catch them everytime. Very easy guide to fish with from beginners to experts, he dedicates time to teach different techniques, explains reasoning for doing certain things, and overall improves you as an angler. Very well rounded guide who does inshore river/lagoon fishing, nearshore offshore fishing, live bait, artificial lures, fly fishing (my personal favorite). From sight fishing endless flats and mangrove shorelines for spooky fish, to blasting docks for aggressive predators, to jigging over reefs for monster snapper, to fishing behind shrimp boats for big pelagic fish he does it all! Its also more then a fishing trip with mike when you are constantly learning something new, getting to see various wildlife including some exotic species, and explore areas you’re never likely to see otherwise! Good personality, easy to get along with, and always able to find common ground to hold conversations with. all in all mike is an excellent guide that goes out of his way to make sure you get your money’s worth everytime weather thats from the action had, the knowledge learned, or skills mastered…there’s a reason i call him every time and have for 10+ years Want to catch big fish mikes your guy, want to catch alota fish mikes your guy, want to add to your species life list mikes your guy! List of fish ive caught with mike over the years include Tarpon Snook Speckled trout Redfish Black drum Jack crevalle Bluefish Blue runner Weak fish Red snapper Lane snapper Mangrove snapper Bonita Cobia Amber jacks Spanish mackerel Pompano Ladyfish Various reef fish (to many to list) Various sharks (to many to remember) Rays Micro bonefish And plenty more! I’m know I’m missing some because im running out of species to catch that exist in the waters we fish all thanks to mike! 😂

An enjoyable trip. Weather was windy and cool but still caught fish. The Captain has a positive and outgoing personality and has extensive knowledge of the area. We would book with him again
