We had an awesome time on our 4-hour fishing trip with Captain Kyle! He worked nonstop to get us on the fish, and we ended up catching plenty of pinks and rockfish—and even saw whales along the way. Kyle was fantastic with our 8-year-old who LOVES fishing, giving him attention and encouragement the whole time. He was also incredibly patient (even when I tangled his reel). From clear instructions on how to find the boat to making it easy to get our fish processed and shipped home, he took care of every detail. Highly recommend booking with him—we couldn’t have asked for a better day on the water!

Incredible Alaska Fishing Trip – A Must-Do!

4 Hour Trip – Cruise Ship (AM) le July 23, 2025 • 2 adultes

We booked this fishing trip while visiting Alaska during our cruise, and it ended up being one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip. The scenery was nothing short of breathtaking – calm waters, mountains, and crisp, clean air. But the real star of the day was the fishing itself!

We had an incredibly successful day on the water, reeling in King, Coho, and Pink salmon – and even landed a Sockeye, which was a nice surprise. The fish were plentiful, and it felt like there was always action on the lines. Our guide clearly knew the area well and made sure we were in the right spots.

Important Tip: If you're coming off a cruise ship like we were, make sure to communicate your ship’s arrival time with the charter operator ahead of time. Cruise schedules don’t always align with listed charter times, but with a little coordination, everything worked out smoothly for us.

We couldn’t have asked for a better Alaskan fishing experience. Whether you're an experienced angler or just looking for a memorable adventure, this trip is absolutely worth it!

We went out with Captain Kyle on two different days. Good price with top notch service. The catching was a bit slow but Kyle did his best to get us on the fish, and we brought home several nice ones. Based on nearby boats, we were doing better than most. Kyle was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. He seemed to be someone who would be great for all guests including families. Really enjoyed the experience and I would highly recommend Worman Sportfishing.

Kyle is a great guide! We were on fish the entire time. We took a taxi from town to the Marina and Kyle was waiting on us. From the marina it was a short boat trip to the fishing grounds. Due to the wrong tide and such a short duration because of the cruise schedule we didn’t catch the giant halibut we were going after. But we had a great Alaskan fishing experience and we’re catching fish the entire trip. Main highlight of the Alaskan cruise!

We booked a half day fishing tour with Kyle, and we had a blast! Kyle was very knowledgeable about all types of fish, what was edible and what wasn’t. He also had a great eye for bites on the rods, and his tips helped to keep our fish hooked till it got to the surface. I highly recommend fishing both in Ketchikan, and with Kyle.
