An incredible day on the Quinault River with Augustine. It was a special opportunity to experience the river alongside a tribal guide and benefit from generations of local knowledge and understanding of the resource. Augustine was on time, fully equipped, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. Throughout the day we hooked into all three varieties of salmon in the river and used several different techniques and baits. Augustine gave us instruction and coaching when we needed it while still keeping the day relaxed and fun. There was plenty of good conversation, a lot of laughs, and it ended up being one of those memorable days with friends and family that you hope for on a fishing trip. We easily could have kept our full limits, but chose to take only what we knew we would eat during the next few days of our stay on the Olympic Peninsula. A truly amazing experience. I’ll definitely be reaching out to Augustine again the next time I’m in the area.

Took my daughter and her husband. Both had never been salmon fishing before. Our guide was greeted, helping them and putting us on fish. We limeted out on kings and had over 60 LB of fish. What a great trip.

This was my first time fishing for salmon and did not know what to expect really. Agustin was very helpful and informative. He was good with contact and responding to questions prior to the float. This was a float trip on the Queets River, no motor. Agustin did the work rowing and anchored us at holes and currents where the fish congregated. We used spinner baits and salmon roe. We caught several Kings that we released since they had been up river a while and waiting for better catches. We limited on Kings and caught several Cohos. We actually saw many schools of Coho, not all wanting to take the bait. Considering the low level of the water, I think we did pretty good. I sent a 15 quart cooler full of filleted fish home. Overall, I would use Dtf Quinault Guide Service first choice. Fishing the reservation was the way to go. We saw only one other boat and only a handful of fishermen wading.

Took a chance on an early season trip on the Quinault River with Capt Augi. The goal was to enjoy a peaceful and serene drift among the Olympic Rain Forrest with catching being a bonus. Augi (with deckhand Cory) was early, prepared he was knowledgeable. and he nailed this trip with consistent action from start to finish. We hammered a trophy summer run steelhead right away then continued with a fairly steady pick of good grade cohos and a big fat King! Took home enough fish to last the winter. Thanks Augi for a great trip. We’ll be back! Highly recommend!
